Mono Lake Committee Information Center & Bookstore

Been a longtime donator to this cause. So thought I would visit the store. Was taken back by the attitude of the staff about tourist visiting the area (basically keep the flow of people low and only to those who are now here). Some real elitist BS. Second, I asked about the stuffed Owl and Red-tailed Hawk on the shelf - where did they get them. Really don't this stuffed wildlife is the right message for their cause - specifically raptors who are protected.

Very educational and great products in reference to Mono Lake and the surrounding Mono Lake Basin and the local history of the people.

Somehow I didn't take a single picture in here. This is a great stop, if you are just passing through, stop here! Restrooms are great. They offer free wifi. You can get interesting info on Mo-No lake (You totally look at it the whole way here!) and even help support it. Entrance, parking, restroom, and counter are all accessible. Plenty of parking, located right on the 395. Also, they have some awesome souvenirs! Looking for a great gift, you can find something here.
