While I have never experienced a rude call from a representative, the first time I contacted this company was a bit odd. They person with whom I spoke took my information and told me that someone would be in touch, then after a few days I received a call. I found out that they charge an exorbanant processing fee-whether you pay by phone w/credit card, by check or online-for a $50 payment they wanted to charge a $12 processing fee! While I can understand a small processing fee of a buck or two, $12 is simply outrageous. I let them know that I would deal directly with the company with which I hold the original debt, as they do not have a processing fee. I also made the company through which I hold the debt aware of the fees J&L wants to charge. My main issue is that even though I had made them aware of this, J&L kept contacting me...this is after I had asked them not to contact me again and I have been making payments to the original company. So far, I have had to ask them 3 times not to contact me and I have given an explanation as to why; however each time, a representative states that they will note it in my file...yet they continue to contact me. My debt is with the original company and I am making payments to that original company, these folks need to take the hint and stop contacting me in an attempt to profit from the "processing fees".
