I’ve taken my ‘86 VW Westfalia to a few shops around LA. Foreign Autohaus is a good distance from me so I held off taking it to Pete for a while, and I wish I hadn’t waited so long.
When you pull up, you might confuse it for a VW Van cars & coffee because there are always SO many in the lot. Regardless of generation, don’t even bother taking it anywhere else.
Pete (the owner) is transparent, up front, honest, and patient. He’ll talk you through everything step by step beforehand, give you options, fair estimates. You never feel like he’s trying to pull a fast one on you... because he doesn’t need to, his shop is always overbooked. As a result of that, he also works QUICK.
He’s got so many spare parts laying around, he doesn’t have to wait on shipping.
TLDR; If you drive a VW Van of any year, do not hesitate, bring it here.
