    Prospective Tenants Be Aware - Since the initial short term county Covid-19 restrictions on storage facilities, Stor It Farley Rd W has allowed customer's access to their units By Appointment Only the past several months. Covid-19 safety guidelines are respected, appreciated and expected in every business. However, for the past few months customer unit access has been severely and unreasonably restricted. This coincides with the added and accelerated profit center of Truck Rentals at Stor It. Apparently, the lucrative generation of a new client base for truck rentals is the priority over the existing storage unit customers. I have been a loyal, considerate and professional tenant continuously for over 12 years and have referred clients in the past. I never received via email or any other formal communication notice that the website posted unit access hours no longer apply and in fact access has become increasingly limited. The policy is the whim of management and appears to change based on supply and demand of truck rentals. Emails that follow to managenent have been edited for brevity and are accurate: 9/3/20 - Laura, I need more access to my unit to accomplish what I must and it's not optional but a necessity. I don't require parking in front of gates to elevators only unit access and time inside my unit. Please let me know as many days and hours access as possible this month. Thank you 9/10/20 - Laura, per email sent 9/3/20, please let me know available access to my unit - It's very important I have extended days and access this month. Thank you 9/11/20 - Laura's response: "After giving it much thought, I can't give you 4-6 hours, 3x a week. We have 800 customers. This is like giving you 72, 15 minute appointments for the week. We are supposed to give 15 minute appointments so everyone has a turn and we can clean." After months of playing "Mother May I" requesting access to my storage unit and use of the mostly locked customer restroom, Enough was Enough. I had to spend $365 to pay movers to vacate this unit on 9/19/20; pay $178 for my unit at Stor It for a total of 7.5 hours access for the month, and pay for another storage facility to store my unit contents. I was forced to throw $543 away in one month for the privilege of accessing the contents of my own storage unit. The storage facility I relocated to has nearly unlimited unit access, high security, exemplary customer service and is Covid -19 responsive and immaculately clean. I gave an additional star over one because possibly the management is taking these actions due to ownership pressure. I have nothing personal against management and in fact like them. Whatever the reasons, when short term economic gain is placed above a loyal customer base, no one benefits. I wish management and Stor It continued viability and success. As long as the customer is honestly informed of a companies revised and current policies, they can then make whatever decision works for their storage needs.

    Update: In December I moved all my wine to WineBank in Menlo Park and have been very pleased. The locker at Winebank is larger and LESS THAN HALF THE PRICE compared to Storit . It is also reliably staffed by friendly, professional people during all posted business hours unlike Storit. So sad, Storit was great for many years but when the management changed they doubled the prices and cut back on staff so much that the office is closed most of the time which makes it impossible to pick up shipments at your convenience and they even stopped sending email notifications when shipments arrived. The last straw for me was the condescending lecture from Robert about picking up my shipments within 72 hours when I had already made 2 trips to pick up my shipments but the office was closed both times! 12/1/2018 I have been a customer of Stor'it Los Gatos for many years. I pay ~$250 per month for wine storage (the rates were doubled a few years ago when management changed. Today I went to the office at the Farley location to pick up some wine shipments from Oct and Nov. I arrived at 1:25PM and the office was locked with a sign indicating "Back at 1:30." I spent a few minutes moving things in and out of my locker and then went back to the office at 1:50PM. Now the sign has been changed to say "Back at 4:00." So basically the office is close ALL afternoon when the posted business hours are clearly 8:30-5:30. The problem is this is the third time this has happened to me this year - I show up during normal posted office hours to collect a wine shipment and NO ONE is there! This has happened on weekday afternoons as well as Saturday. I have called and emailed Storit about this problem and no one has responded. Probably the same person who is playing hooky is the same person ignoring or deleting my voicemails and emails. Can anyone recommend a different place for wine storage?

I have been a customer of Stor'it Los Gatos for many years. I pay ~$250 per month for wine storage (the rates were doubled a few years ago when management changed.
