As a physician, the one surgery i dreaded most was open heart surgery. I therefore was apprehensive when I found that I needed a 5 vessel bypass. Dr Griffith was very pleasant and assuring as he went over the studies that revealed my vessels to be in a pathetic state. Following surgery I felt great, I had no pain unless I coughed. I was mentally clear. Dr Griffith and his team were very upbeat and comforting. I thank God I had these people involved in my care.

I was struck with Boerhaave's Syndrome in Oct. Of 2003. Thank God Patrick Griffith was in Ohio at Kettering hospital at the time, because he diagnosed my problem and preformed the surgery. I threw up one time projectile from a sinus headache which blew the hole in my esophagus where my stomach connected. All my stomach fluid emptied into my chestwall cavity and collapsed my left lung. You have 24 hrs to get help or you are dead. There is a 96%mortality rate, so after surgery my husband and children were told I only had a 10% chance to survive. Thank God he he had more for me to do. I have no support group, but I would like to talk to Dr. Griffith and if I ever get a chance to see him again I would love to give him a big hug.

A very nice doctor, takes the time to explain every detail of surgery procedure for my husband. Very professional and kind. Its an honor to have such a doctor in our area.
