I worked in mortgages for 5 years and have helped friends by homes for decades, never have I encountered such an unprofessional, disorganized, and overall "bad at their jobs" escrow company as I did with Powerhouse.
They routinely misplaced documents (not just slowing down the loan process with our lender, but when we were in their office to sign docs they openly discussed another loan in which files were missing that they "coulda swore they saw"...mind you, huge piles of documents were stacked all over this office, I can imagine things go missing frequently), were horrible in communicating with us/our lender/our realtor, and actively told our seller to "cancel the loan, because they're probably not going to close". Once we were finally going to close they had an incorrect closing doc from the lender that did not have paid taxes for 2020 included, so rather than take the time to update the docs they literally asked us to just pay the extra $50,000 that had already been paid to the government and said "we'll just figure it out later and issue a refund after closing". (We got the docs updated, it took an extra 7-10 minutes to fix this glaring mistake.)
It blows my mind that they've remained in business as long as they have. Never in a million years would I recommend them to anyone.
