The little place was buzzing but was seated promptly when I arrived. Warm & cozy with seafaring paintings that adorn the walls with lots of windows oozes coastal charm vibes.Shortly of being seated, a friendly server asked if I wanted something to drink and I eagerly requested coffee. A decent cup of joe ($3.50) arrived within a hot minute signaling it's wakey time after the dreaded DST monster made its unwelcoming, ominous presence this early morning.Chicken fried steak and (2) eggs with biscuits and gravy includes hash browns ($17.95) was the order of the day. Generous filling portion while not the best CFS entrée I've had, eggs were cooked perfectly and hash browns were crispy. The only down note was my biscuits (served separately) were a bit hard and dry. Luckily it was covered with a good amount of sausage gravy. For the most part filled the bill by ultimate comfort food.Dining companion had the Surfer Special ($15.95) which consisted of a big, breakfast sandwich with huge short stack! Said it was one of the best breakfasts ever from this very picky eater.Coffee was topped of consistently. Server checked in without being annoying....,will return to try the Fish & Eggs ($19.95) people were raving about that morning next time....Food 4/5Service 5/5Value 4/5Atmosphere 5/5Bathroom*located outside behind, didn't check it outVerdict 4/5...notable foodie stop

Moss Landing Caf is a roadside dinner that is easy to dismiss for out-of-towners. We had some time on our hands and decided to try it out. We wanted a snack, so we ordered calamari and fried artichokes. They were tasty. The people sitting next to us were eating hamburgers and commenting on how good they werea great place to stop before entering Monterey.

This is exactly the small roadside Caf. You would expect any Harbor and fishing community. Located just a couple blocks from the harbor area is small restaurant that is favorite with the locals. Theres not a lot of seating so sometimes theres a little wait. The staff is very friendly and tentative constantly refilling your coffee and catering to all your needs. The crab and artichoke and cheese omelette was pretty good however, it was overcooked. It would be nice if they offered country fried potatoes in addition to the shredded, hashbrowns. The deep-fried artichokes are to die for with their crispy outside and soft artichoke center. I wouldnt pass it up if youre in the area and youll be the judge.
