I had originally taken the free Zoom session in January, 2021 that introduced the Sam Christensen Image Process concept for actors (and those outside the industry, wanting to know their essence as a way to brand themselves). I was so intrigued that I decided to sign up for their four week online program, taught via Zoom. They also have in-person classes taught in their Atlanta office, which are taught over a long weekend. The classes are kept small so that everyone has a chance to participate and provide feedback to their classmates. Each session is jam-packed and well-organized. I was glad that I took it over a four week period so that I could fully digest the material. They also offer monthly Zoom workshops to anyone who has ever taken the class, as a way to follow up and stay connected. While the classes are not cheap, they do offer many payment options. I found the classes to be well worth it. They opened my eyes to many facets of my personality that I wasn't aware that I was projecting into the world. I highly recommend these classes for anyone who would like more insight into themselves. The class atmosphere was very supportive and a lot of fun.

Very odd. I have taken several workshops at SCS, and every time I am blown away by the information and feedback I receive. I find it highly helpful, and I have referred many many students and friends of mine to SCS. But then this happened:I had signed up for another workshop a few months prior, but I had to cancel the week before because of a booked job. I was told, no worries, we are having another workshop Nov 10. I knew I would be out of town that weekend, so I didn't sign up. However, today I received a voicemail with information regarding their workshop this weekend (Nov 10)--a workshop I didn't sign up for. So, I sent them an email saying, hey, must be some confusion, I never signed up for the workshop this weekend. This was the reply I got:this is entirely frustrating because you told me in person you wanted to do this plus we had sent you out info before to remind you of the date. So there is no confusion.Huh??After sending them at least a dozen students and spending hundreds and hundreds of dollars, this is the response I get? It's very odd to me, because Sam and Ken and their team has only ever been lovely and welcoming. I never received a confirmation. I never signed up for this class. I'm highly confused and offended by the email I received. Here was my response: I apologize, but the last time I saw you was when I did the archetyper class. You sent me the previous email (on this thread) about the date for this workshop, but I never confirmed with you regarding this time because I knew I couldn't make it. I sincerely apologize; you know I love you and Sam's workshop. I've referred countless students of mine to yall's workshops. I assumed that unless I responded to your email saying I could attend the new date that I wasn't signing up for it. I didn't know that my silence regarding the new date would be a confirmation of my attendance. You say that there was a confirmation email sent out confirming my attendance; unless you are referring to the message in this thread that mentions the new date, I never received a confirmation email. I didn't know I was signed up for the class until I received your voicemail today. Again, I apologize for any confusion that could have been avoided.

I would say that anyone wanting a career in show business should make Sam their first stop. Before headshots, before scene study class, before getting your representation team together. Do yourself a favor and take the image design w/Sam. He gives you a real vocabulary with which to use when talking about your casting to those who are going to hire you, represent you, teach you. I wish someone would've given this advice to me when I started. Oh, well, better late than never. I've been steadily working ever since. P.S., I am not an employee or anything, just a grateful student. :-)
