I want to clarify the low rating has nothing to do with Dr. Chen, but with the office staff. A few months back I went in a few times for similar issues, both times left urine sample and asked for it to be sent out. Dr approved. Never heard back in the results and each time the staff neglected to send it out for the testing that the dr and I had discussed. Fast forward to this week, I went to the ER, for a similar but more serious issue. I needed a culture added on to a sample I left, and I tried to explain my very simple need to the staff. Instead of listening they shut me down and told me they wouldn’t diagnose me over the phone and I needed to drive 45 minute to leave a urine sample in the office. They refused to send an order to the hospital lab, which has my sample sitting there, they refused to send an order to an independent lab closer to me. They never even bothered getting the bloodwork, hospital notes, or imaging reports for the actual dr to see and make the decision on the best course of action. The office manager Rochelle discharged me from the practice because I wasn’t happy with how they handled the situation. Toward the end of the conversation she FINALLY asked what hospital I went to, even though it had been told to 2 other personnel besides herself. As much as I liked Dr. Chen, my health has taken the hit from their repeated negligence and lack of follow through a primary care staff should have.
