Bet the owners wont read this but Ill leave it here. I came in today to check if I can do a firearms background check, wondering if I can do that in a gun store. I didnt come in today to buy a weapon. They said no with valuable reasons and I agreed. Anyways, I started looking into the guns to check the firearms Ive wanted from my bucket list. I noticed that the Glock 19 GEN3 had a price tag of $691?! On average theyre at least $500+ or less than $650. Outdoors have them at $579.99. Why is it more expensive here? Oh well While I was checking out the firearms, the employee and I had a discussion about background checks again. He asked why I wanted to see my background check. He told me that being worried about it should already be bad news. Ok, makes sense, we got a lot of crazy people who shouldnt own firearms especially the amount of mass shootings we had. He also asked was it because I had a felony, or misdemeanor, etc. I said no, but without further information I told him it was mental health related just to keep it short. Immediately, he went straight on to me telling me I shouldnt own nor touch a firearm. I get it, theyre firearm dealers, theyre not here to go deep into your history. But he didnt even question nor ponder my reasoning behind my mental health issue. He just assumed for the worse and told me straight up, that I shouldnt have the right to bear arms. I told him how subjective that was in terms of mental health. It felt like he had a problem with me already. I was constantly abused and assaulted in the military in 2020 where it led to my mental health decay. I ended having to go to the mental hospital from the Navy because I needed help. As of 2024, Ive had therapy sessions that I no longer need, no medications needed, and I receive VA rating to help me ensure my financial issues. I get it, rules say within of California that anything related to mental health issues should be in check depended on the circumstance. But I dont need some gun salesman to tell me straight that I shouldnt touch nor bear a firearm and have my 2nd amendment removed. Youre there to sell, not make statements about me without knowing anything about me. How unprofessional it was, dont bother going to this pawn shop for firearms. Go to a real firearms store.

This is a lively place. The people who work there seem very knowledgeable and can talk a storm. I didn't see anything resembling a bargain in there though. The Internet has killed bargains at pawn shops because everybody knows the price of everything now.
