CalState Moving & Storage did a great job moving one of my family members to their new place. They arrived promptly, were friendly, and didn’t damage any of their belongings. Will definitely use them again.

Calstate moving failed to meet any of the communication deadlines that were expressed to me. Nor has it delivered the contracted service and generally just behaved in a fraudulent manner.
They will not show up or contact you and it takes hours of effort to find out anything out and if they miss your move out date they will keep your deposit.
This was scheduled for the 13-15 and I was told I would receive a phone call by the 13th to schedule the exact day but no one ever called. I had been in contact with my rep regularly since the 10th with packing questions but once I asked about scheduling the day he stopped responding.
On the morning of the 14th I called the 800 number and was informed my job was not accepted. I spent almost all day trying to get a hold of someone to figure out what had happened. I have the text message with my rep where I explained I was told my move was cancelled and he informed me someone would call and didn't answer any of my follow up messages until I got a call almost 4 hours later.
Finally I spoke with a different rep in the afternoon on the 14th and I informed him I was moving out of state on the 17th so he rescheduled the move on the 16th between 8-10 or 9-11 and he stated someone would call and let me know. All of the emails I received from Mike the new rep also came from the same Lucas marrow email address as the original sales rep I spoke with.
On the 15th once again no phone call.
On the morning of the 16th again no calls, I called the 800 number and was informed my move wasn’t on the schedule. Again after multiple phone calls, text messages and multiple dropped calls I was informed at 2pm that the truck had broken down and would not be arriving on schedule. Which may be true but I find nearly impossible to believe based on my experience with the company thus far.
I messaged and spoke with my rep and stated that I believed they were behaving fraudulently and I wanted my deposit back. I made it clear I wasn't cancelling on the move but that they were behaving fraudulently and that I was moving my things into a storage unit, after which I was informed I could not receive my deposit back of over $3000. I was told (I have the text message) "the pick up will be tomorrow (the 17th) in the morning, if you are not there and the pick up can not be done the deposit is not refundable."
On the 17th the truck did not show up and I was informed by customer service that I could not be refunded the deposit because I cancelled.
