Dr. Merrifield is the worst dentist I have ever been to in my life. I'm a college student and did not have much money.             I wen't to him on a referral from valley dental clinic. I told him my financial situation and long story short he agreed to perform work for 100 dollars cheaper. upon giving me and x-ray he told me i had to bad teeth that needed to be root canaled instead of one! Then says " I tell you what! I'll do both root canals now, and you pay me 750 dollars (student= no insurance) and I'll give you temp fillings that will last 3 months, and when you come back Ill give you permanent fillings. I wen't home and asked my parents for a loan for this 1500 dollar fiasco and they agreed. I also note that when asking dr. merrifield if I would need crowns he said most likely not, that everyone does not need them. Despite warnings from family I still went.Besides hitting my nerve with the needle and then perscribing me valium for my "special condition" as he called it, Dr. Merrifield told me that I would need to come back as soon as I could but that the temp fillings would hold for 3 months and no later. After 3-4 weeks after sitting down at a mexican restaurant I had a tortilla chip go through my tooth! What a wonderful feeling!  I now sit in my chair typing on this screen 750 more dollars in debt, tasting the rot in my mouth. If you value your smile, don't see jeff merrifield because although he may have tons of successful proceedures you may be one of his unsuccessful ones, and above all if you do go. Make sure your insured :(
