Barbara Shipley’s Home Day Care

My son loves loves loves being at Barbara's daycare. From a parents perspective, we loved that Barbara taught our son impeccable manners, cleanliness and respecting everyone. We also noticed that his vocabulary improved by a lot. Barbara teaches her kids to speak in proper sentences and helps them convey their asks/thoughts very well. We also loved the sick kid policy she has. Made for a much reduced frequency of sickness within the day care. Her toy collection is very extensive which my son loves!!!

My daughter absolutely loves going to Barbara's daycare. She is excited each morning to see her and in holidays/weekends she remembers & asks for her which itself says how much she loves attending and spending time in this daycare. This is the first daycare she attended, so Barbara put in lot of effort to make her comfortable and get adjusted to the environment & kids around her. She teaches how to behave & socialize with other kids, also teaches right from wrong very patiently in their language. One more thing I like about this daycare is that it has sick room which reduces frequency of getting sick as it is contained. She also makes sure that the kids cover while coughing or sneezing. My daughter picked up lot of vocabulary from her (2 yrs old). Initially Barbara showed a lot of patience and also encouraged her to eat and nap by herself which was a great struggle as she refused to eat and her sleep schedule was all over the place when she started the daycare. Daycare has extensive collection of toys and books which she loves to play with.I also love the way Barbara interacts with the kids, she makes them do paintings, puzzles etc. She also updates on how she ate etc via messages. She teaches the kids discipline and how to behave with each other. She is a great care giver and absolutely loves the kids & strives very hard to take good care of the kids. We needed a day care for our baby girl in a short notice. we thank god that we found Barbara. When we first met Barbara at her day care facility my 18 months baby girl started playing with toys and interacting with Barbara. Barbara is so particular with health of the kids. she has a separate sick room for the sick kids. She also provided us with tips on how to set limits and how to teach kids good manners etc. All kids love Barbara and listen to her. She is very patient with kids, worried about kids health and well being like a family member. She arranges birthday parties and christmas party and kids enjoy them thoroughly. My kid learned lot of manners, good habits, rhymes etc from Barbara. She would even understand my baby's likes and present her the toy she like or advice us to buy them. I would highly recommend Barbara for your child day care needs

Barbara is a gem of a person. I came across her when our daughter joined her daycare; she started at the age of 15 months and continued till 2.5yrs age. Barbara is a very caring, loving and patient person. Her love and affection for kids amazes me. She is highly driven when it come to associating with kids. Within a few months of joining Barbara’s daycare, my daughter developed a strong bond with her. Every morning she would wake up and be excited to go to Barbara’s home. She is popularly known among her kids as Barbara aunty. My daughter is a stubborn eater, to an extent that Barbara hasn’t come across such in her daycare career. However, she worked with her very patiently all through the time and managed feeding her as much as possible every day. Barbara has her philosophy for chid bringing. She gives them freedom to exert their opinion but also teaches them to be responsible. You will find all the good things in her style of managing kids at her daycare - enforcement of rules like no snatching, no pushing, no use of bad language, sharing things etc in a very positive way, lots of developmental toys, story time, music time and a lot more. She makes sure that every kid feels comfortable and gets the much needed care and attention. She always carries a smile on her face when engaging with the kids. Barbara maintains very high standards when it comes to cleanliness. Whether someone likes it or not, one has to follow the requirements if you want your kid there. There are strong benefits of her methods; our kid never caught any infection from her daycare through her stay. This is when there were news in the media for the flu season to be a very strong one. I highly recommend Barbara. Sending your kid to Barbara, you can rest assured that he/she will enjoy it the most and will get the healthiest environment needed for their early mental and physical development.

We moved our daughter to Barbara’s daycare after a very bad experience at another place. My daughter’s health was deteriorating when she was at her previous preschool. Her health improved so much after moving to Barbara. Barbara is an excellent care taker. She has separate sick and well areas for kids and that helps to keep illnesses at bay. She treats kids with love and respect. She imbibes good values in kids. She makes sure every kid in her care is happy. She only gives organic foods to kids. She talks and explains so much to kids that all the kids in her daycare are very fluent and expressive. She has tons of patience and is always smiling. My girl is extremely curious and asks hundreds/thousands of questions every day. Barbara answers each and every question of hers. I have always wondered where Barbara gets that patience from! Many a times, I asked Barbara for parenting advice and she always gave me excellent ideas. My daughter always looked forward to going to her daycare. My daughter is almost 4 and is now moving to a preschool. I will always be thankful to Barbara for taking such good care of my daughter.
