DO NOT, let me repeat DO NOT hire Michael Thayer Painting for any painting job.  I signed a contract with Michael on 3/4/2020 and give him $3500 deposit since he mentioned he would start on 3/20/2020. Since giving Michael the deposit he did not show up on our agreed upon start date of 3/20/2020, nor has he returned our phone calls, texts, and emails. I am in the process of taking Michael Thayer Painting to Small Claims Court to try and get my money (deposit) back.  DO NOT HIRE  MICHAEL THAYER PAINTING!!!  How does any human being do this to a paying client and run a small business like this.  BIG WARNING...  DO NOT HIRE...

In my 53 years, I have never been robbed, until Michael Thayer came to town.  I have reported him to local authorities and our family plans to take him to small claims court.  He literally stole 3500 dollars from me, as a deposit which was paid before the job was set to begin. As a teacher, I was in disbelief that anybody could do this to a fellow human being during these difficult times, especially if they owned a legitimate business. It took me a considerable amount of time to save this money, and during this time when everybody is having difficulty feeding our families we are faced with the unthinkable. We are now out of our savings, and Michael Thayer has disappeared. I trusted this man with our money and our house, and he has abandoned the project and never put in one day of work!  We have tried to email, text, and call for last 3 weeks. Apparently he has done this before, and has gotten away with these robberies for the last 2 years.  Please DO NOT HIRE THIS MAN!!!! Please come forward to authorities about his unethical use of his business license, his deviant behavior and stolen money.  We work so hard for our money and now we are left with nothing, no money and no trace of Michael Thayer. Please help us stop this man from stealing money from any other unsuspecting , innocent victims.   Sincerely,                                           Teacher in PG

I called Mike Thatcher for a bid to do some painting over six months ago. He finally came out, took some notes and said he would provide the bid, which I never received. I finally called and left him a message. He called back and left me a message saying he was sorry that I didn't receive his bid, but then he said he couldn't remember what my house looked like, where it was, and if I could remind him??? Obviously, he never did the bid to begin with!!! So unprofessional... Then I see him last night at a community meeting in which he sits on the board. He didn't like what I and others in attendance had to say, so when we were leaving, I mentioned his message that he left me a few days prior, and he screamed at me how he was glad that he never got back to me and would never paint my house!!! I would avoid him at all costs if I were you!!!

We only saw him when he bid the job, to pick up the deposit and to pick up the final check. Much of the exterior painting looks good, despite the trim color not matching the pre-existing Anderson doors. Two months into the job we noticed the caulking was cracking so we called him. He said the weather would be better and to call him in summer.  We did, but then he told us that he talked to "someone" and they said that they should not have done that with Hardie Plank Siding.  So we paid extra for a portion of the job that should not have been done. We contacted him with our concerns, no response.  His dismissal of our texts, emails and calls has been extremely disappointing.
