Great Job and a Fair Price ***** Highly Recommended. This review is for Attic Masters Insulation Services dba Evergreen Insulation. I live in the Santa Monica Mountains where we have a pretty severe rodent problem with rats and mice regularly inhabiting our attic, especially after the Woolsey Fire. I was changing out my air conditioning in two attics and whilst I didn’t really need new insulation I decided to replace it all so that both attics could be sealed and rodent proofed. I did lots of research on blown in cellulose vs blown in Fiberglass and there are plusses and minuses to each. I have very difficult attics with high (Cathedral Ceilings) and low areas and lots of cables running everywhere. I interviewed and got estimates from 6 top rated companies and got a variety of prices with a 50% difference between the high and low bid, so it pays to shop around. Each company seems to have their own preferred Insulation, be it Fiberglas batts, blown in or Cellulose and each one will argue the merits of each, so it can be confusing. I settled on Attic Masters after I met with Leo (he was only the second person to actually measure the space) and he offered any of the three methods and didn’t try to upsell me anything. I wanted the job done in two parts, remove existing insulation, seal and rodent proof then come back after AC install and insulate. This was no problem and no extra charge from Leo. On the appointed day and on time, Juan and a crew of two showed up for part one. They worked incredibly hard removing the old fiberglass batts, debris and vacuuming the space. Every hole was sealed with foam and all vents were covered with wire screen. The attic was left in great condition for the AC installers and it made their job a lot easier. These guys worked tirelessly and I had to force them to stop for a sandwich and a break. I had always vacillated between blown in Fiberglass and cellulose and did not want to use batts again so I had a few discussions with Leo, Celine and Juan, for various reasons we eventually settled on a hybrid of R38 Batts and blown in fiberglass. The AC install ran over and Celine in the office was very accommodating changing the date for part two. Install day arrived and again Juan and his helper arrived on time and worked as hard as the previous day laying batts and blowing fiberglass. Although it has only been a day the house feels cozier and the AC seems quieter and hopefully the rodents are banished for good. For a process that can be quite disruptive everything from estimate to finish went very smoothly and I couldn’t be happier with the end result. The price was fair, the work professional and Juan and his crew are a credit to the company. What more could you want? Highly Recommended.
