This is a wonderful place to stay in Lake Almanor. The camp host Gary is fantastic and so is the owner Doug. We really enjoyed our visit and will definitely be back!

We were very excited to book at Lake Almanor as our family has never been before. Then a little over 2 weeks before our trip the Dixie fire broke out. So I called 2 weeks before our scheduled trip to inquire about what to do with the air quality. I was told to wait until the day before our check in day to cancel our trip. Then I emailed the day before and was told that if I had cancelled sooner they may have been able to work with me as far as a refund or whatever. I was also told I’d hear from them but never have. During the time of our initial booking this part of the lake was evacuated but apparently these people still find the need to keep our money. The air quality was so bad that had we went we would’ve been stuck in our cabin the entire time and then had to evacuate… so disappointing that these people are so concerned with money they can’t be descent human beings and refund our money, I’m sure their insurance will be covering their losses also. The cabin required half down deposit so I’m talking about $400 we lost, not just some little amount of money. And to think my husband is a fireman working on the Dixie fire trying to save places like this…
