I agree with everyone posting. The management is extremely unhelpful. I was trying to pay the deposit to reserve the apartment and couldn’t get any assistance other than “Go on the website and try again”. This happened three times via email as no one answers the office phones even during business hours. I don’t buy the “everywhere is short staffed in covid” because both times I went there in person multiple people were sitting in the office and still pretty unwilling to help, telling me everything is done online. If they are that unresponsive I cannot imagine actually needing help as a tenant under contract. Ended up looking around town and found something way better with a great office staff. You can do WAY better than this place and these people.

I dont know why everyones hatin on this place like everywhere was screwed because of covid and i personally think its insane looking at other prices around town and what youd get for the same amount of money. My rent is low af and anything else like it in this area is small and generic. My friend was thinking about living here until she read the reviews and thats when i saw the stuff people were writing and had to laugh because these are literally ridiculous. If i need something and they dont answer guess what i do? Walk downstairs and ask. Problem solving people

This was one of the most absurd apartment-renting experiences I’ve ever had. The TL;DR version: don’t waste your time trying to work with their management team. Here’s why: First, I showed up to my appointment to view a few units at The Indi. I loved the aesthetic in their photos online and figured I’d give it a shot even though I had already read a ton of negative reviews. The manager who was assigned to help me that day had no knowledge of their available units, and I first had to walk her through what I was seeing on her website. She took about 4 trips back and forth from her managers office during this conversation to figure out which units they actually had available in the coming weeks. This already proved to me a lack of basic sales acumen. Then, I loved the specs of the apartment that I viewed, so I bit the bullet and filled out an application later that day. It took them 8 days to approve my application. Every other apartment I’ve lived in across the country approves applications within 2 hours. Lame. I was excited and had been patient all week, so I then promptly asked them to send me the lease agreement so I could review it and begin setting up arrangements to ship my furniture out from New York City. I was then told that I’ll receive my application 2 weeks prior to the move-in date. WHAT!?? It takes 15 seconds to draft up a lease. I then replied saying that I’d need to see the lease ASAP so I can begin my shipping arrangements, which will take 3-4 weeks. I never heard back for another 7 days. Here’s where things get even more absurd... I called their office multiple times that week to try to get the lease agreement sent over, and was never able to get a human on the phone, nor did I ever receive a call back, let alone a simple email reply. Finally, I heard back on day 7. She said she was on vacation the last week, and that I’m more than welcome to call their office anytime. The last I checked, vacation responders were still a thing, and so are voicemails. So, I moved forward with another apartment on the other side of town and asked for my application fee back. I understand that I don’t necessarily have the right to receive my application fee in return, but with this hideous customer service, I felt that’s the least they could do. According to her manager, “they are unable to refund my application fee due to Fair Housing Laws.” They must not have done a Google search that morning on what that means; “It is illegal to discriminate in the sale or rental of housing, including against individuals seeking a mortgage or housing assistance, or in other housing-related activities. The Fair Housing Act prohibits this discrimination because of race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, and disability.” Clearly, my circumstance has absolutely nothing to do with The Fair Housing Act, unless they want to bring race, color, national origin, religion, sex, familial status, or disability into the equation. I hope their management team takes my $50 application fee and buys an online course on real estate law. Live elsewhere, it’ll save you a headache!
