I have been a guitar student of John Taylor’s, at Mile High Shred, for a little more than two years. I began as a total beginner and progressed and learned a great deal from his lessons. John is very knowledgeable and he is definitely patient with his students. He tailors the lessons around the needs, interested, and progression of the student. He is also great at introducing the student to different types of rock and metal genres. John is a great teacher and I would highly recommend him as a professional instructor for anyone who desire to pursue playing music. - Christian

I have been taking guitar lessons with John for a little over two years and I never imagined I would be able to play as fast as I can now. I used to think that I wasn't born with the ability to shred or solo but John has helped me overcome this notion and I've been able to learn cover songs (including solos) of my favorite band and play them at tempo. John is a world class guitar player who is also very gifted at teaching students of all levels. He is also flexible so the lessons really conform to your own personal goals. If you want to learn ANY song or solo, John can figure it out and teach it to you. If you want to learn music theory, John can teach that as well. I cannot recommend Mile High Shred enough!

John has been my Guitar Teacher for the last 5 years and I dont even know where to start to explain how much John has done for me not only as a musican, but as a person as well. From day one John has had my highest respect and deepest admiration in what a Guitar player really is. He is incredibly humble about it, but John (without a doubt) is the most phenominal player i've had the honor to know, he is very dedicated to his craft and so on top of his game, and to say the least....extremely talented. John was always very patient with me in my lessons and one thing I appreciated most was that he made MY musical goals HIS musical goals. Right away, he asked me what I wanted to acomplish on guitar and we just tackled goal, after goal, after goal with some tricks along the way. Next thing I knew, I was playing things on Guitar that would have taken me MONTHS to learn on my own. I can easily say that if I did not take lessons from John I would not be HALF the guitar player I am today. For example, when I was taking a Placement Exam to qualify for a Music Theory class in college at MSU the only theory I knew was from everything I learned taking lessons from John. In the end I passed my exam and qualified for that Music Theory class with flying colors! One last thing I would like to say, is that John has taught me important lessons about music away from my Guitar that have even helped me in non-musical situations. There would be days where I would beat myself up on my playing or feel down about my situation with various bands here and there and John has rebuilt my confidence time and time again. He made me feel better about myself and taught me actually how to stand up not only for myself but my music. I'll put it this way, he believed in me when I myself did not. He does not get paid for that and he did it for no other reason besides the fact that he CARED. To the people reading this, know that John Taylor has so much more to offer than the average Guitar teacher and i STRONGLY advise that if you want to take lessons, HE IS YOUR BEST CHOICE! -Tommy Aragon

I've been learning from John for about half a year now and I'm beyond stoked with my progress. I've had to break down bad habits that were self-taught over the years and John's precision is the cure for sloppy guitar playing. Give him a call!

John Dr. Hot Licks Taylor has proven to be very knowledgeable about his instrument and music theory. He has helped me overcome some bad habits due to poor instruction in the past, and as a result my playing has improved. I would recommend John Taylor to anyone looking for a great guitar teacher.
