This is a horrible joke of a school. Recently found out the gym teacher Jim Gianvito bullied my son for years through intimidation, mocking, and physically forcing him to sit down. My daughters teacher told her “I hate your shoes,” very inappropriate for a teacher to tell a student. I will be reporting the school (again), I hope this cesspool gets shutdown.

Updated Review: The nursing staff is good and helped keep my children healthy. However, I could no longer promote a 5 star review after my children’s last couple of years here.
My daughter was bullied by the same two girls for 5 years. I basically begged them to help me with this issue and they gave an inadequate attempt to stop it. I had to put my daughter in therapy because of this. The girls talked about her hair, her skin color, and the clothes she wore. It was horrible experience for my daughter and she’s still traumatized today.
My son was ostracized and lied on his final year. He was labeled a “troubled kid,” and left to flounder. His teacher that year also had her sons in the class, they received special treatment. They were allowed to take different extracurricular activities and they were put in special classes. I reported the school to the Colorado department of education, but they didn’t do anything. I also reported to their Director of Education on the campus of National Jewish, she seemed genuinely concerned, and said would discuss my concerns with her staff, unsure of how things went from there. I also reached out to the Morgridge Family Foundation as they donate money to the school. They suggested I move my sick children from the school, so basically they didn’t care if my children died.
I remember one year a mom needed resources and the school resource coordinator that year was pregnant and completely unengaged. Another parent went out and bought the resources for the mom who needed help. This was very disappointing because there were plenty of unused resources already at the school (I saw them with my own eyes). It was literally her job to provide resources and she did nothing. I could go on and on with similar stories. I do have to say there are a handful of teachers who really loved my kids and enjoyed teaching them.
We spent 8.5 years at this school. Overall I’m glad my children are no longer at this school. Their asthma was worse when they were younger and I will admit they did need this school back then. However, their policies are antiquated, and their staff lacks diversity. There is only one male teacher and no people of color. Staff diversity is necessary for representation and relation. Most of the staff have no idea how life is different for a child of color. Most of the children at the school were black or Latino so to have no diversity in the staff is very disappointing.
If your child needs this school for health reasons the nursing staff will take good care of them, but educationally your child will suffer.
