Archadeck of Douglas County

Substandard at BEST! I'm sure at some point Archadeck of DC was a thriving business but within 18 months had gone from an Accredited Business with the BBB w/ a good rating to being a non Accredited Business with a F rating. The owner Gary Scherping, has all the right things to say however, when it comes to putting his actions into motion, the wheels come off the bus. I had never done a project as big as what we had signed up with Archadeck of Douglas County back in March/April of 2015. If there's one thing I wished we would have put into the contract was timelines and penalties if certain deadlines were not met. One delay after another and the excuse was it was always someone's fault. Sub-contractors could barely stand to work with the owner and I believe there had been a revolving door with subs coming and going because of how the business was run. I will say this, the design was fantastic and the finished product was great! Getting to that point, well that's a different story. It was at no surprise that I received an outstanding invoice from a sub contractor that Gary used for our project where the company was still trying to recover money from our project 15 months after the invoice was due. The company has threatened to file a lien against my property unless this bill is paid. After speaking with the representative from the company, it sounds like they are sitting on a couple invoices that are way over due and have not been collected on. The good thing is Archadeck Corporate has pulled his franchise from him. The bad news is this is the type of guy to try to start all over under a different name and do all the above stated over again and leave honest people in the dark and with bills.invoices that are unpaid in the wake of it all being done. If you are dealing with Gary Scherping in any way, shape or form, keep looking....even if it means at the end of the day you are spending a little more! the hassles & headaches that comes with Gary Scherping are avoidable if you just don't use him!

Finish project was good. Project took much longer than expected. Two liens were placed on my property, one which Gary took care of. The second occurred after final payment, and now, more than a month later, Gary totally is ignoring me and his responsibility to release the lien from his steel subcontractor. If you use this contractor, make sure to get releases from each and every subcontractor that works on the job before making final payment.

We had an excellent experience working with Archadeck of Douglas County for my patio and pergola project. Their design ideas were excellent, and the craftsmanship and attention to detail of their work was outstanding. The project took longer than expected, but that was largely due to the unprecedented rain we had in early summer.

We had a great experience with Archadeck of Douglas County. Gary and his team did a superior job on our project. Gary made sure every phase of construction went as planned and the result was picture perfect. We truly couldn't be more satisfied. If you want a quality product, don't hesitate to sign up with this company. You won't be disappointed. Great job Archadeck! Thank you Gary!!!!!!!!!!
