Lakeside - Taylor Morrison

My wife and I have started the process of building a house here in Lakeside. I want to say up front that if you're interested, you need to do your homework. Start off with online research, and then reach out to the Sales managers to make an appt. If you just show up on a Sunday afternoon, you may come away less than satisfied. If you've done your research, your time and the Sales manager's time will be much more efficient. Having said that, we did have an appt, had an idea what floor plans interested us, and the lot size on which they could be built. We're working with Tracy, and she's been fantastic! We got the floorpan and type of lot we want (corner), and we're excited to be moving forward. I'll say it again, doing some homework up front is a HUGE help!!

There are beautiful homes here, but they are too close together for my comfort.

The staff offered by the Lakeside community is very subpar with their customer service and communication. Let's start with their customer service. First I will start off by stating that not everyones service in that office was terrible. I give them two stars for this reason. However, about 1.5 months ago, we visited the office @ 12 pm on a Sunday and spoke to the rep about our intentions. Our interest were in the Bimini and Carmen. She stated that neither staff member was working that dealt with either floorplan. She proceeded to give very limited info as if she wasn't knowledgeable or wasn't interested in us as future buyers of these models. Fine no biggie, she stated we needed to return Wednesday to speak to their associates that dealt with them. I decided to set up an appointment for a phone call because I wanted to get some basic information about the models. Btw, these people don't pick up the phone when calling. I get a nice woman on the phone (her cell phone) by the name of Lisa, she called me. She helped as much as she could but noted that she wasn't the one that worked with the floorplans we were interested in and that she was out of the office at the time. She did note that the two associates were in the office that day and to call (I called and they didn't answer). She also stated THEY WERE IN THE OFFICE the weekend we visited! WTH?! So we were lied to the weekend we visited?! Fast forward to our most recent visit after we put ourselves on their 3 month long 60 ft lot waiting list. They had an inventory home in the exact model we wanted that would be available in June. We get to the office during our scheduled meeting and she tells us she has a buyer that wants the home and paper work is being done. Fine, we got there too late, but she never called to tell us or our realtor this information before we arrived. We tell her to call us if the sale doesn't go through. Well we wait and notice that the home is still available several days later, of course it is smh. We never got a call about it at all. My wife and I were serious buyers and had everything ready to go but Lakeside and some of their associates are just terrible. So we've decided to move on from this community. I'd advise if you can, to look elsewhere. Their customer service and communication is lacking. We've gotten so much better treatment elsewhere with other builders. We aren't the only ones that have had negative experiences with this specific community either as we know other realtors. Unless you speak to Lisa you probably won't have a pleasant experience with this community. I want to say this isn't a negative opinion on Taylor Morrison but only the Lakeside staff. Edit: Looks like Kristen has gotten early adopters to leave reviews for them to boost their rating. I believe she was the the individual that gave us the bad customer service, go figure. It makes sense if you look at how many reviews those people left within the short time frame and the amount of google reviews they have overall. They were most likely "encouraged" due to some reviews calling them out. One was actually deleted.

Kristen Haysley at Lakeside community was amazing in helping us find our home last year. My husband and I are still in the process of building, and it's going so well and smoothly! When we visited the community last August, it was completely brand new (I don't think anyone even lived there yet), she was very helpful with educating us on the area and the future plans of Taylor Morrison and that community specifically. She and I actually continued in friendship after we first met because my time with her was so pleasant. TM has been a great to work with overall, and we've had a wonderful experience with all involved.
