On Saturday, October 16, 2021, I lost my most precious boy, Sulley. Dr. Laura, I believe that you are truly an angel sent from Heaven. You gave my baby a sweet transition to the Rainbow Bridge. It was peaceful and dignified and magnified my love for him. I can't thank you enough for your compassion, your kindness and loving ways to both of us. I know my baby is in a better place with your help. May God continue to bless you and your work.

Dr. Laura came highly recommended by a close friend when I found out after only a few days of my almost 11 yr. old "Baby Girl" kitty not feeling/doing well, that she had a tumor in her throat area and there was nothing we could do for her. She was struggling and declining quickly and I was not ready for any of it. It all happened so fast and so unexpectedly. Dr. Laura called me back right away and was/is the most empathetic, caring Vet I've ever met. She wanted to know her story and all the details to help walk me through this difficult process and decision. She was so patient and genuine and let me know exactly what to expect and helped me have a sense of peace. I don't know how she does this all the time, but I am so grateful her heart allows her too for people like myself. It helped make this most painful time a little easier. Dr. Laura truly cares and treated my Baby Girl like she was one of her own.

I knew the day was drawing near when I would have to say good bye to my beloved elderly cat Buffett. Dr. Laura guided me through the most difficult of decisions. Speaking with me numerous times with some conversations lasting over an hour. She was caring and knowledgeable, and I never felt rushed. When the day came to let Buffett go, Dr. Laura explained in detail what to expect. Buffett passed peacefully. Dr. Laura treated him as if he were her own, wrapping him lovingly in a blanket and putting him in a beautiful basket. I knew he was at peace. I was able to retrieve his ashes 5 days later, in a beautiful carved box. He is back home where he belongs. Dr. Laura made the most difficult of days more bearable. I can’t thank her enough.

Our 18 year old cat, Tigger, had been having health issues over the last 18 months. He endured blindness, kidney disease and a heart murmur. We knew one day he would leave us, but he continued his routine each morning greeting us, tail up and purring. Never knew a cat could purr as much as he did. It was difficult knowing when would be the right time to say goodbye; we had decided that we did not want his last hours of life to be full of trauma in the ER. When he spent a few days not eating/drinking, not purring, tail down, we knew time was getting close. After two failed attempts calling in-home veterinarians, I was able to contact Dr. Allison. My call to her was a blessing. We talked for an hour ---- no pressure from her to make a decision. Dr. Allison helped us say goodbye in a beautiful manner. Tigger made his journey bravely, gently and dignified. We spent extra time with him at the end; she wrapped him in a cozy blanket and placed him in a basket. What a beautiful touch. Thank you Dr. Allison for your caring and compassion You were there for us in our time of need and truly helped us on a most difficult day. Kathy O.

About
Compassionate Hearts Veterinary Hospice

AND EVER HAS IT BEEN THAT LOVE KNOWS NOT ITS OWN DEPTH UNTIL THE HOUR OF SEPARATION -Khalil GibranThis passage is so true that I placed it on the memorial cards I sent to friends and family when Raisin, my Chocolate Labrador, passed away. To this day, I feel the depth of loneliness without her.It is for this reason that I was called to be a home hospice veterinarian. To be called upon in a familys time of need and share the passing of a beloved pet is a sacred experience and one that I am honored to be part of.
