Worst place ever.

Rooms are clean, rates are competitive although slightly above the average in the area. Having just checked in, customer service is poor and infuriating, even more so when compared to other hotels in Gainesville. We come here every year to see the softball regionals. We always book two rooms, and always get adjacent, across the hall, or at least on the same floor. At other hotels, fine, but not here. It's "policy". They can do it if they downgrade both rooms, but they won't refund anything. It's "policy". Offering to wait (we were 90 minutes early) until check in would not be any different. {Policy!} It was explained it is too difficult to coordinate (what?!! Hotels coordinate check-ins and checkouts all the time). So we get rooms on two different floors. Now, those floors each have multiple rooms being stripped and cleaned, the last person has checked out. Why couldn't we wait and at least an hour and get two rooms on the same floor? Anyway, it's just disappointing, no customer service skills at all. Just "policy". Not, "I'm sorry, I understand you may be disappointed, I wish we could do better, and will try and do better in the future" - just, "IT'S POLICY, NOTHING I CAN DO." They showed no understanding on how this degrades the experience for their customer. They could not have cared less. Ok, well, I will enjoy the softball tournament, and the room is clean and I am grateful for that, and I will make due without asking for anything of staff, but I will not be back. I will let IHG know about my experience, and I will share with everyone here at the tournament my reasons why they should ALWAYS book somewhere else then here. You should too. There are better experiences for sure.

This place is a dump...underconstruction...got taken for 156$..I have stayed at many HIE this is the worst...
