    You go in to look and browse and they talk you into putting down a 1000.00$ escrow payment before even talking to a loan officer. They insure you it’s to “reserve” the home and if any reason your loan doesn’t go through, “You will definitely get your deposit back.” I applied with their preferred lender, FBC Home Loans, who is equally negligent in their practices. Although keeping open communication, updating, and supporting your clients through the loan process is not illegal in any way, but mostly disappointing in their lack of basic customer service and interpersonal skills. Make sure to read the Starlight contract THOROUGHLY. Although no where in the contract does it state how long you have from reserving your home, to the closing date, Reed Williams does not like the loan process to go over "65 days" Even though it was up to FBC to pull my tax transcripts, which they must of gotten to tired to wait for. I have no control over when the federal government makes those available. But if you do end up going past your closing date "If Buyer fails to close as required herein, Seller may either in Seller's sole and absolute discretion: (1) terminate this Contract due to Buyer's default and retain the Deposit; or (2) extend the date of closing for up to fifteen (15) days at Buyer's request, in which case Buyer shall pay Seller the sum of Two Hundred and 00/100 Dollars ($200.00) per day, payable by check at Closing, for each day the Closing is delayed, in addition to all other amounts owed to Seller. " So either way, they make sure you lose. I can't speak on behalf of the entire company, because they are owned by a parent company,Ashton Woods, but the Riverstone Community specifically needs a refresh and improved basic level of customer service training that starts with management and funnels down to the sales people. Walmart customer service level. No one knows anything, not even the management. I hope others are able to gain insight through my mistakes before you decide to deal with this company.
