image My daughters started out at Precious Hearts in October 2018 (formerly known as Learning Laughter and Love).
To start a majority of the staff was pleasant and good with the kids. But there seemed to be a disconnect. It could be a little chaotic and staff didn't know what was going on. On my daughter's last day, I had an employee tell me that they were glad we were getting our daughter out. (As in, our daughter deserved somewhere better).
When we started, my older daughter was in the private pre-k program and enjoyed it. She had a teacher that she liked and seemed to be learning alot. My youngest was in the 1 year old room and moved up to the 2s in April.
When the new owners came in (I think December time frame), there was a large turnover of staff (for whatever reasons). When concerned parents reached out, the owners said they would have a meeting with the parents in a few months. The change concerned alot of parents and we felt like we were being left in the dark. You would be dropping your child off with a stranger because the previous teacher was all of a sudden not there anymore (not for sure if this was due to the teacher or management).
The owners have been making updates to the center since the beginning of the year. Rooms were painted. 3 and 4s had a wall put up to separate the rooms. And I heard they would be putting in new playground equipment (much needed!) But there is still alot of work to be done. The classrooms never seemed to be clean, floor and rugs would be dirty every morning. Kids would be eating snacks off the table or a paper towel instead of a plate.
We also had an issue with my 2 year old's diaper not being changed frequently enough. I had told my husband that I thought it had been way overdue for us to take diapers in especially with how often her paper said she was being changed. My daughter was out of the center for a month and the second day after my daughter returned to the daycare, she had been at the daycare for a little over 6 hours and they didn't change her once (was reported and can be viewed on decal.ga.gov site). There are cameras in the room which helped prove she wasn't changed. She was frequently not changed for 4+ hours. She would be changed at approximately 10:30-11 and then not again until after nap and snack time (3-3:30). I was told that they don't change between lunch and nap.
My older daughter required sunscreen to be applied every 2 hours (per doctor and note was supplied). With the inconsistency of staff, this didn't always happen. Staff wouldn't know to do it or told my daughter they didn't know where the sunscreen was.
The private pre-k kids were moved up to the summer camp once the school year ended. There was a large age range of kids, from about 4-8/9. I noticed the classroom seemed to be more chaotic and there were alot more disciplinary actions. The older kids weren't a very good example for the younger kids and it showed. I wouldn't have kept my daughter in the summer camp if she would have been staying in daycare long term. We ended up pulling her out in July.
They recently updated their system to KidsReport so you are able to view diaper changes, restroom visits, meals, etc on an app with email notifications. An issue we noticed with the papers they would fill out and the app was that they were pre-filled out or still not accurate. Her nap time would be written down and the end time would be after we picked her up. We got notifications for food she ate on days she didn't attend.
My 2 year old started at a new daycare and she's came home with more art projects in a week and a half than her 5 months in the 2 year old room (and probably close to her entire time at the daycare).
I know this is a long review but wanted to be honest about the good and bad. This center may be okay for older kids or who don't require any special care. I wouldn't recommend it for kids who thrive on consistency.
The screenshots included are not of the time we reported the center. If you notice the times it indicated she was changed (9:16 and again at 3:51).
