    I asked for my policies to be cancelled Friday 07/24/21 to prevent an auto and home policy renewal draft today (07/27/21). I emailed Richard Ferguson at Simple Risk Solutions. He requested a signed confirmation of cancellation. I provided it and even stated I was concerned about the auto draft. No response. This morning my checking WAS auto drafted. It sent my account into the negative balance which will certainly cause an overdraft fee from my bank. It's taken several hours to get a response with copies of the cancellations (auto and home). He also stated, "Your account will be refunded in 3-5 business days." Zero apology for the inconvenience nor explanation to what happened. Very poor communication, lack of heart, and follow through.

    Originally had this company as my auto and home insurance. Richard Ferguson was asked to send information to my loan company, it took numerous times contacting him to get the info. Also this agent didn't send in the auto insurance info to South Carolina Lexington DMV that caused my husband's driver's license to be suspended. When I change from Simple Risk Solutions (Richard Ferguson) to a local company in Lexington. I again had issues from him not taking my phone calls. Richard Ferguson needs to have his license taken away. I also think this company should be shut down.

    We signed up with Richard Ferguson at SRS brokers for a Safeco condo policy coverage in March 2020 for our rental townhome. After sending him the Master HOA policy as well as our past insurance policy he recommended coverage that didn't include any dwelling or building property coverage. Our deductibles for water damage on our home through HOA coverage (ex from water heater busting) are $20,000 which the homeowner is responsible to pay for. I asked him specifically if his plan covers that $20,000 deductible and he said yes it is covered in loss assessment and I believed him. Loss assessment does not cover an individual claim to a home but it is a collective claim across the community. If we had a claim within the last 10 months of being covered through him we would have had to pay $20K out of pocket and been totally screwed. I had an advisor look over my insurance policies on 12/20/20 and he saw some red flags on the condo policy so I immediately reached out to Richard the next day. After speaking with him the next day he ensured me that loss assessment which was included in the plan covered the $20K deductible. I even gave him the specific water heater situation to him again and he said it was covered by Safeco. He also misinterpreted Georgia Law and told us that we would be responsible for $49K in wind damage deductibles if something happened to our individual home because our HOA wind deductible was $100K and his loss assessment (which covered nothing anyways) is $51K. With Georgia law the max an individual can pay on wind damage for individual home is $5K. I was still unsure about his answers so I called the Master HOA insurance company and she said loss assessment usually never covers that for individual claims. I then sent her the Safeco policy he wrote me with all terms and conditions and she said no it is not covered. I also called Safeco corporate and they told me no it wouldn't be covered and that the policy he wrote had poor coverage. I immediately tried to get in contact with Richard Ferguson to see if he could add coverage and all he wrote back was that they were wrong and we were covered. I kept trying to call him and email him to contact me and he ignored my requests and only wrote cryptic emails back to me saying "do you have a claim?" When I called his assistant Nikki Wolford she kept asking if I had a claim and wouldn't transfer me to Richard. I ended up having to cancel and go with another insurance agent that same day because Richard Ferguson would not reply to me and refused to add coverage. Our home was in jeopardy for over 10 months because he wrote us a bad policy, denied any wrongdoing, and completely ignored us. If an advisor had not looked at my policy we would have potentially stayed with him unknowing that we aren't covered. To all those who commented on his page- yes he does have great rates- but at the expense of what? When it comes time for a claim and your not covered then you will really feel the pain. If you are currently with him review your policies. He is a complete liar and a horrible person for not admitting his mistake and making it right. Also if you google Safeco near me in Metro ATL it all goes directly to his phone SRS Brokers. He is a broker and shouldn't represent his company as Safeco even though he can write for them.
