Our refrigerator was having multiple issues (frost buildup in the freezer, and unstable temperatures in both freezer and fridge) but was under warranty and the manufacturer arranged for Sid to check it. He opened the freezer, saw the frost, and immediately said that there was nothing wrong with the unit - and that the issue was due to us not properly closing the doors and not having enough food in the unit (I had just removed the food in anticipation of the servicing). He insisted it could not be due to any other reason other than the seals, which he confirmed were working properly, or possibly a defective door insulation. I defrosted the freezer as he instructed, and both the frost and temperature instability remained as problems. After contacting the manufacturer again, they acknowledged that both problems could be due to a defective mechanism that has to do with defrosting. Sid was pleasant and made time to come on a weekend, but I find it sad that he chose to put the blame on us and didn’t seem to be aware of other potential causes, which I was able to come up with just by going on the internet. I would not recommend Sid.

Called because my washing machine had mysteriously quit working. He told me over the phone to try a drain and spin cycle, and it worked! I had contacted other repair services, and they just wanted to set up appointments. I will definitely call Akamai if I have another repair need.

I was referred to Sid for help with my refrigerator (since it worked more like a freezer + super freezer rather than a fridge and a freezer).  Sid researched my refrigerator and gave me suggestions on how to fix the situation.  He ended up giving me advice that fixed the problem without having to come in AND without me paying a dime.  I'm honestly blown away with how responsive and helpful he has been.
