This police department only takes reports. They do no follow up on major cases and fail to interview potential witnesses of the crime. Chief is appointed by the Mayor rather than testing for the best qualified applicant. Normally based on friendships rather than administrative knowledge. Lack of patrols in residential areas. All focus is on the two main roads in town. No radar trailers to slow excessive speeding. Little or no social media information on burglaries , thefts etc.. Typical Barnie Fife town

Very dedicated experienced group of officers Response time approximately fifteen minutes. Officers professional and courteous I am fortunate to have these officers in charge. They are a credit to our community I feel safe.

When reporting crimes they take a report and no follow up is conducted.  There are no trained investigators within the agency and the current Chief and Mayor do not see a need to train personnel in this area.  We spend huge sums on police protection but essentially have a traffic squad working the area.  No proactive enforcement.  When a crime occurs in your area, no use of social media to notify local residents of the crime or suspects that they might be looking for.  Very unfriendly officers, never wave, never stop to see how things are going in the neighborhood.  Lack of enforcement on quality of life issues such as loud stereos, barking dogs and similar items.  Those who have lived in the City their entire lives do not see a problem, but if you move here from outside of the area, you immediately notice it.
