Would love to give ZERO stars but that isn’t an option. They are the worst people to deal with and have become rude to current customers. I would never recommend anyone a mortgage through them!

With how much has changed in the Mortgage loan process, it's understandable that we would run into some snags. Moreover, I cannot fault WF for having to work on a home loan approval with a considerable amount of student debt on my end, which has made buying a home next to impossible. However, the complete lack of respect and communication from our loan office must be commented on. Some background information; we approached LO Denise Flanc with honest and upfront numbers. I had a very good credit score (mid 700), we were putting down a considerable amount of money (more than 25%), and informed her that the only debt I carried was my student debt (we worked hard to pay off all other debt while I am currently in Grad school). From the beginning, Denise assured us that my student debt would not be a problem because their deferment period was over a year. After working with her for 2 months, we finally put an offer in on a home and granted an approval letter in April. All documentation requested on our end was submitted the same day; we were motivated buyers. Appraisal was ordered and home repairs were done on our end in order to pass conventional inspection standards, totaling close to $1500. After more than a month of Denise assuring us everything was fine, even while pointing out several concerns by simple research online, communication stopped on her end. Side note: this was a HUD home, and closing had to happen within 45 days of the agreed upon contract or the deal would fall through (unless you pay extension fees of $375 for every 15 days). After numerous attempts at contacting Denise, we requested to speak to her supervisor and informed him that we would be taking our business elsewhere in hopes that it would prompt more immediacy. Unfortunately, his ambivalence about our situation was evident by his "we really don't need your business" response. We never heard from Denise again, no response, no explanation, no apology. In the end, we did FINALLY close on the house (on August 1st= 5 months from initial contract) after another appraisal ($500) and 6 extensions ($2250) later. Because of their negligence and lack of knowledge on the buying process we lost $2750 of avoidable fees. If you enjoy spending extra money, constant stress, and completely wasting your time, then Wells Fargo is the bank for you!!!
