Be prepared to be charged HUNDREDS and even THOUSANDS of dollars at the end of your lease for absolutely no reason. We were charged for some dust here and there and much, much more. I highly recommend you consider every other option before signing here. You wouldn't enjoy the poor quality furniture either. I wish I could give 0 stars. If you sign with the village good luck to ya.

One of the worst student housing options available. If you value getting to class on time this is NOT THE COMPLEX FOR YOU. The shuttle is the most unreliable shuttle system in bloomington, and will leave you stranded on campus for hours with no update, or will completely miss a pickup time and show up 10-20 mins later. It’s currently week two and I’ve been stranded on campus longer than I’ve been at my apartment because the bus just doesn’t show up. maintenance works hard and well but that’s about the only thing that works hard and well when it comes to the village. There are literally no perks to living so far away from town, paying so much regardless, and being stranded on campus for hours at a time.

Expect to be charged for every little thing when you move out. If you have any questions with the things you are being charged for they probably will not respond to you. I disputed the charges on my account and contacted them over 15 times trying to resolve the conflict and was not responded to. The dispute process does not mean that you get to speak with them, but it means that they will look at your account again and determine if there were any errors. Employees had an attitude on the phone with me and managers stopped responding to my emails when I asked to have a conversation about the charges. Very disappointed in this place an glad that I don't have to live on their property that fell apart while we were living there. If you want somewhere cheap and far from campus to live, this is perfect, but if you want a good community and apartment DONT.

The apartment that I live is very clean and nothing broke down. At one point I had ants and they were taken care of immediately (I got lazy on the cleaning). THE BEST INTERNET! We are talking 300 mbps download and 250 mbps upload on a bad day. The tap water is amazing for the people who dislike killing the environment with the bottles. I was paired with amazing roommates. The staff is amazing and kind (special thanks to Jacqueline who was the patience of a saint). Above all else, this place seems to have cheaper electric than any other place around.
The pool is very clean along with the grills (open 24/7 365 days). The gym can be a little dirty, but there is a good amount of equipment. I'm not from the city so it was very good to live in a place surrounded by trees.
The people who live here are alright. It is easy to make a friend here if you try in the slightest. At times someone may get to loud at night, but from personal experience it doesn't happen often. Considering IU is a party college, that is lucky. People party here, but it never gets loud.
All in all, live here because this has been an amazing place to live in while studying.

My son is at IU And I am in South Bend, so it has been hard searching for housing. But with the kindness of Jocelyn, I felt like I was there. Jocelyn was so friendly and helpful! I think I called back like 8 times. I felt like I knew her. I battered her with questions about costs, the application, the lease options, the shuttle, you name it...she was able to provide all the answers. She helped put a mothers mind at ease. My son decided to live here with 3 other friends who has already signed a lease here, and she helped move their lease to a 4 bdrm. All the leases are individual by roommate, and I was able to do everything electronically. I can only hope that my sons living experience here in the fall of 2021 will be as pleasant as my interactions with all the staff!
