image Had an axle back exhaust installed. Ed and the crew had been staffed challenged. He was able to accommodate my request and made sure I got to work on time. Stang sounds great!
Thanks ED!

image About a month ago, I brought my Mazda to you for inspection as I was hearing a front suspension clunk. You identified the issue as being worn ball joints (within the front control arms). The total repair cost for that ball joint install was quoted @ $600. At that time, you also quoted the install cost of 2 brand new control arms to be $1,500. I opted to have the ball joints replaced. After I took back possession of the car after the repair, I still heard the clunking noise I was trying to fix in the first place.
When I returned, you then said the sway bars should be replaced. So, I had them replaced. I'm not going to argue if the sway bars needed replacement as they weren't a lot of money anyway. So, after all of that, I STILL heard the clunking noise. It was more than just an annoying noise. I was concerned it may be a safety issue. So, I took my Mazda to the local Mazda dealership for inspection.
Their exact quote on their assessment of my car was 'tech found movement from the front ball joint moving freely in the front control arm' - this was one of the SAME ball joints you had just replaced a few weeks prior. They also showed me where that ball joint wasn't seated properly in the control arm. There was a clear gap, explaining the clunk. And yes, it was a safety issue.
Today, I had Mazda replace the entire 2 front control arms. You know the ones you quoted me at $1,500? They got me out the door with tax included (threw in a free alignment too) for $975. That was for an expert, well paid, Mazda tech to install genuine Mazda parts on my car. Finally the clunk is gone.
Obviously, I feel like the $600 I spent on ball joint replacement with you was completely wasted. Nobody would be happy with flushing $600 down the drain and getting nothing. But, an equally concerning issue I have is with regard to your pricing structure. How is it that you quoted me $1,500 for the same job that a Mazda dealership did for less than $1,000? If you had priced me fairly for the control arms on day one, I probably would've opted to replace the entire control arms rather than go with the ball joint replacement.
I feel taken advantage of. This isn't something you can give me 3 free oil changes for, and everything is well. I am new to Carmel, and was hoping to build a long term relationship with your shop, as it's just around the corner. Now, I don't think I can trust you enough to return. And I'm deeply disappointed about that.

image I had my daughter drop her car off there yesterday. The exhaust just before the aftermarket muffler was corrodes and broken. They quoted me $650 for a new muffler! Or...$550 to weld and repair one small pipe before the muffler, plus a few brackets. I said that sounds expensive for what it is and it magically turned into $450. I told them I have to think about it and said they understood. They told my daughter their hourly rate was $160/hr. and would take 203 hours. Meanwhile I called another muffler shop and asked for a range for a new muffler for that model and said it would be $225.00! They looked at it this morning and confirmed the price is $225 for a new muffler. I believe we were totally trying to be taken advantage of. This type of tactic was all about greed and obviously didn't care about retaining a customer at a fair price. Buyer beware.
