Dr. Tyler Potter is an exceptional and compassionate oral surgeon. He performed a tooth extraction for me a month ago and I cannot thank him enough. For many reasons. The first is because he's a skilled physician. During my extraction, he worked with poise and confidence, explaining the process as it went along; consistently offering words of comfort - letting me know that what he was seeing was exactly what he was expecting to see, and the procedure was going well. I thank Dr. Potter because the extraction process and my healing were both seamless. I literally felt no pain at all - from the start of the procedure to today (36 days later) - which still amazes me. I had been terribly anxious about the extraction for weeks prior to the procedure, and I trembled inside that August morning. Perhaps one of the greatest reasons I thank Dr. Potter is for his exceptionally warm, caring bedside manner. It was clear that I was frightened as I sat in his chair, and he showed me the kindest compassion. It brought such comfort during the procedure as he explained what he was seeing, what he was going to do next, and what I could expect it to feel like. His compassionate care was greater than I expected. And above and beyond what I could have imagined. I had just met Dr. Potter for the first time. I hadn't been his patient before. It's uncommon to have a physician answer my and my husband's questions with such patience and genuine compassion. Maya Angelou said that we won't always remember what someone says or does, but we will remember how they made us feel. I can sincerely say that Dr. Potter made me feel, not only that he cared - both about my extraction and my fear, but he also made me feel like I was the only patient he had to see that day. When I know he has a busy practice. And since my appointment was at 8:00 a.m., I know he had other surgeries that day. Thank you, Dr. Potter. So much. I share the same sentiment about Rachel, Dr. Potter's assistant. Rachel greeted me and my husband with warmth and a smile, educated me about the process, reassured me multiple times, patiently adjusted the nasal cannula when I needed to blow my nose, and her cheerful spirit warmed my heart and calmed my fears. The practice called a few days post-op, just to see how I was doing - which was unexpected and nice. Also, I called the office the following week and spoke with Rachel, who shared a question I had with Dr. Potter. And they assisted right away. I'm grateful for the excellent results, (e.g., the healing process and experiencing no pain). I'll also never forget the compassionate and attentive care shown to me by Dr. Potter and Rachel. If you're looking for a skillful, warm, compassionate oral surgeon, I recommend Dr. Potter without reservation.
