Absolutely the worst customer service I have ever experienced! If possible I would give them 0 stars! They mowed the lawn weekly at the home of a disabled veteran who is confined to a wheelchair -- never bothering to trim or blow the grass clippings. Sometime mid-summer I contacted them to ensure that they would be taking care of the leaves in the fall. I spoke with Pat, the owner's wife, who told me that they would in fact take care of the leaves (at the rate of $60 an hour) and that it would not be necessary for me to find someone else. As the leaves began to fall, I attempted to reach them by telephone to inquire as to when they intended to begin raking the leaves. I left messages several times and was never given the courtesy of a return call. Last Monday the owner's son (Brandon) showed up at the residence asking the resident if he wanted his lawn mowed -- although a thick blanket of leaves covered the lawn. The resident told Brandon that he was under the impression that Turf One would be taking care of the leaves and that that needed to happen before the lawn could be mowed. Brandon told the resident that he would be back the following Monday to take care of the leaves. Today when Turf One did not show up to take care of the leaves/lawn, I attempted to call them during their business hours, but once again was not given the courtesy of a reply. I then decided that I would drive the 25 minutes to their place of business to try to find out what was going on. When I got to the business/home, I spoke with the owner's wife -- who apologized that no one had returned my calls and that she had told her husband several times that he needed to call me. She told me that she would have him call me this evening. When the owner called me this evening (November 4), he told me that they would be unable to take care of the leaves -- even though they had committed to doing so earlier this summer. He was extremely rude on the phone and continued to raise his voice at me (as though he was trying to intimidate me) and, at one point, yelled at me during the conversation, saying "This conversation is over" and hung up. I had my phone on speaker , so that my husband could be a witness to the conversation. My husband was appalled at the owner's extremely rude and insolent behavior. My husband and I are both retired law enforcement officers and he commented that people we encountered on the street have treated us with more respect. In trying to find someone else to take care of the leaves, I had a conversation with another lawn service in the area. They told me that they weren't surprised at Turf One's unprofessional behavior, as they recently had approximately 60 people (who previously used Turf One for fertilizing services) contact them to assume those services. Based upon my personal experience, I'm not the least bit surprised!! I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau to ensure that others are aware of Mr. Greene's rude, unprofessional and bullying behavior!!
