The Corner at Broadway

My wife and I got married in October of 2019, and rented out the Corner at Broadway for the long weekend (various extended family/friends stayed there, including my wife).
The pros to the house are everything you see - it's absolutely beautiful, in a great walking distance location to restaurants in Old Town Greenwood, and big enough to sleep 14-15 people.
That being said, I'd never recommend anyone to stay here, especially for their wedding weekend. The amount of added stress caused by the owners was unnecessary and quite frankly disrespectful. Especially considering the high price of the rental, the 5+ pages of rules you must follow to a T are over the top (they have to know the names of everyone staying, license plate numbers of all cars, no guests allowed who aren't on the approved list of people, etc. -- not to mention the absurd rules for the house itself). They also have cameras on the outsides of the building, and seem to watch them at all times. Don't be surprised if they call you (even at 10:30pm) to ask about something you brought into the house, or if they stop by at any time throughout the day.
As anyone who has planned a wedding knows, it's a stressful time, and even with months of planning, some decisions change at the last minute and require some flexibility. Flexibility is not something that the owners of the Corner at Broadway have. They required our photographer to take out an insurance policy to be able to take photos in the house. The final straw was this: We had originally planned to have my wife's hair done at a different location the morning of the wedding, and that ended up falling through, so we told them we were going to have 1 hairstylist come into the house, do her hair, and then leave on the morning of the wedding. Their response to this, mind you this is all happening at 12:30am, was to call and say we have breached the rental contract and they were on their way to the house to kick out all the occupants within the hour. Thankfully, we were able to talk them off of this cliff (although we had to rent a different building for her to get her hair done), but this just gives you a glimpse of what the rental process was like. I could go on and on with more stories like this.
The owners are quite frankly out of touch with reality, which is sad, because in the right hands this house would be a gem for Old Town Greenwood. For your own sake, don't stay here.

This home is beautiful, nicely remodeled and well taken care of. Be prepared if you stay here to wash your own linen on a daily basis and to be contacted daily by the operator, instrucing you to close the door or have daily pop ins. Be ready, you have to strip and wash your linen at the end of your stay. We felt like we were being watched and tracked on a daiy basis. I am in the hospitality business, working for a large hotel chain's corporate office as a trainer and I have never felt so micromanaged when staying in an establishment. The operator will tell you one thing and twist things to make you feel like you broke the "rules". Buyer beware, don't take her word for it. The home is gorgeous and I appreciate the fact that it was built in the late 1800s, however the 10 pages of rules is a little much when paying close to 5000 for the week. If you plan to do all of your own shopping for items such as toiletries and trash bags, or change the temperature in the house to only have it be changed remotely back, then this is your kind of place. The operator would show up minutes after us unlocking the key pad door , she felt it was needed to meet the members of our party, it was creapy and unsettling. This review gets the 2 stars only for the historical charm of the house. If it was solely based on our service it wouldn't be worth one star. We stayed on business and are a really mild group, I couldn't imagine how things would be if we were there for fun. I would love the opportunity to train the operators on the true meaning of hospitality.

Beautiful and well cared for home! We’ve had several family gathering at The Corner at Broadway and our experience has been wonderful every time.
