The owner of this company does everything he can to help his clients. Multiple times I have seen him spend his own money on fixing a clients home when no one else would and the client just did not have the funds to do so. He also does more for veterans than any other home health care company around. If you are trying to get aid and attendance, hands down this is the company to call!

Do not use this company! They don't have many employees, so if your caregiver doesn't show up, well, sorry about your luck! No one comes. They don't call and let you know either. Very poorly run service. They advertise they do medical, but they don't. They won't give you an aspirin, or empty a catheter bag.

I don't usually give negative reviews. I try to resolve any issues in person or over the phone. Check my history by tapping my picture. I am a retired registered nurse with thirty years of experience in homecare. I want to address both sides of this business as a customer and as a veteran business woman. I gave notice, in writing, yesterday that I was canceling my contract with them effective immediately. I received a call from the owner this morning who was very aggressive, angry and threatening. Luckily I was able to calm myself and call Area IV on aging and pass along this information. There have been many caregivers that have come through my door from Senior Helpers in the last seventeen months. In that period of time there were only three that were exceptional. Some were good. The rest of them were, for lack of better words, questionable. Each caregiver shared with me their "training", frustration, and hopelessness with this company. Each I will address separately. Their training is nothing more than watching videos. Absent was someone available to answer their many questions about caregiving. Essentially the majority had zero experience in healthcare. None of which were CPR certified. (This should be of great concern for clients, their families, and staff.) Sadly, if they could pass the required minimums set forth by the state of Indiana and a few references, they were hired. Most reputable companies require a minimum of a year. Let's face it. The world of homecare is a biting and elbow throwing business. However, if you promise employees a certain amount of hours they are expecting them. Most caregivers are single parents with children. They rely on their jobs to to cover food on the table, a roof over their heads, and other very basic living expenses. Only one of my caregivers had a secondary income coming from her husband. She didn't "have" to have a certain amount of hours to survive. All of my other caregivers took their bait and waited until the very last moment and then quit without notice. One of them lost her apartment because Senior Helpers did not keep their word about giving them the hours promised. Overall I say this: don't stop here if you're a client or job seeker. I would not wish any of my or the revolving door of staff the same situation. Make calls to several agencies. Set up interviews and meet them in person. Do not make such an important decision so quickly. I wish you well.
