        Mom is very happy with her new home at Homewood. She enjoys the caring staff, the companionship of other residents, the activities, the meals, as well as the peace of mind of not being alone.

        My mother was in the health care (skilled nursing) unit for 5.5 months, until we finally realized it wasn't going to get better and moved her due to the quality of care at Homewood. The staff are very polite and nice, and most of them are also skilled. I think they care about the residents a lot, and they all work *really hard.* But this can't make up for understaffing, especially in the CNA/QMA and nursing staff. It was routine for mom to wait more than an hour for help when she put on her bell. Also, staff did not use a gait belt to help mom move, which was a simple safety requirement that we requested repeatedly. The administrator would simply smile and tell me they have adequate staff when I went to her with my concerns. Homewood is owned by a large and very profitable corporation, Trilogy Health Services. They need to spend more on hiring and retaining the staff who do the hardest jobs here.

        My husband is at Homewood and the staff is always so nice and caring to me. My husband's drivers license expired and they got him another. Also they took some residents to Indianapolis 500 museum.
