I actually work here and all those negative reviews are from people who haven’t been in our program. Ever since Missy took over the program, it is better and we’re constantly improving! We have had students recently graduate and we have 4 more graduating soon and their lives have been forever changed by Jesus.

I'm a graduate of this program, and can say with confidence that this program is not real mental health care whatsoever and does more harm than good. I struggle to express everything that happened there, bc I have PTSD from the experience, even after many years, and have actually had to seek counseling FOR this counseling. If you have a child at risk, please find them appropriate support. Research! Don't hand your children over to this program, where you will have barely any contact with them or oversight into what is being taught and how your child is being treated.

Please do your research about this place before sending your daughter. We have been supporters of Adult Teen Challenges for many years, and have seen lives transformed by this ministry. Our 17 year old daughter and my husband visited this Teen Challenge in March 2021 and TOGETHER we made the decision for her to attend there starting in April. She went into this program willingly, believing that she would find freedom in Christ from her past trauma, and struggles with mental health. She was told it would be a year where she could sit at the feet of Jesus and find healing. This is NOT what she found at all. She was only there 6 weeks before we made the decision to remove her. The environment at this center is very unhealthy. As another reviewer has stated you have very limited communication with your child. We were fortunate that our child was receiving telehealth counseling services, and psychiatric appointments with her home health team. They alerted us to concerns they had about the program. Also, our first visit with our daughter made us question if Teen Challenge was truly a place of healing, or if it was causing more damage. Since she has been home, and shared stories of what goes on there, I unfortunately believe that more damage than good is being produced. If your daughter is already there, please listen to her if she says things are not right. You maybe told that your child is just trying to manipulate you to get home. I urge you to listen to your daughter. My daughter has a strong faith in Jesus, and thought that upon coming to TC that she would encounter Christ, and be able to come to wholeness. She says that Jesus was loving and merciful to her while she was there, and she did encounter Him, but it was not because of the program. Every day, she prays for the girls who are still there and wishes she could help them. I do want to say that I believe many, if not all the staff, do have sincere hearts in wanting to help the girls. They are not bad people. In fact, my daughter loved her advisor there(each girl is assigned an "advisor" to work with them individually), and her advisor did do her best to speak life into my daughter. However, the program as a whole needs to have a major adjustment. The staff is lacking in the training and education they need to work successfully with these girls. Their intentions are right but in my opinion, some of the practices and the overall environment and culturel in the center needs a major over hall.
