I was an honors student at my public high school . When the pandemic hit we went virtual and I made the decision to stay virtual for my SENIOR YEAR. I had faith in this program. I was greeted by teachers who didn’t care, assignments that were just busy work, assaulted by constant zeroes even when I was doing my work. The pacing guides always said I was ahead but these are the worst my grades have been in years. I recently discovered that my transcript from them also has errors. Classes having my finals put in as zeroes despite me completing them and receiving high B’s and mid-ranged A’s. I don’t know what these people expect. Their business is awful. There have been multiple instances where I have been forced to call the actual office headquarters to report teachers for not assisting me or for ignoring my emails for days on end. I would send up to five follow up emails with no response. Each with two or more days in between. It got to the point where it felt like I was drowning. On top of all of this, I kept trying, but now I’m fed up. This is the last week of my senior year and I’m fighting trying to have my transcript corrected, attempting to get emailed back answers to my questions, and attempting to just have teachers do the bare minimum of grading my work in the classes I have finished so that I know how I did. I do not know what else to do. I have sent a million emails, made a ton of phone calls, and done everything in my power to pass this last year of high school and to get in contact with the school to fix the issues I am experiencing. No one will answer. I am desperate to have my transcript fixed in order to help me with my scholarships that are now in jeopardy.

I hate to rate any business poorly during the pandemic, but this system is a hot mess, to put it mildly. My child was enrolled as the alternative to attending her public school in person, and unfortunately it did not work out. Nothing was intuitive, it took multiple emails to every instructor to receive assignments, try to understand assignments, and many of the responses were not clear. You'd think assignments would be posted somewhere in each class page, but they were not for the majority of them. The only instructor who clearly posted assignments was for P.E. class, and even that was a nightmare to navigate. There were multiple pages and PDFs to navigate, and we could never seem to find our way back to access information needed without looking in the wrong places first. She'd be told she turned in assignments in the wrong place, with no instruction on where the "correct" place was. With a virtual lab for a science class, all she was told was that it was there when she asked where to find it, because she was having trouble. It was finally located after clicking on a "text version only" link. Not sure why a virtual lab would be hidden in a text only version of lesson, but it was. Another instructor kept forgetting to send the assignments because she teaches multiple classes in person and was busy. While we sympathize, it's unacceptable to not receive assignments until 6 days after a class has started, and then be expected to have a week and a half's worth of assignments completed in 2 days. My daughter is an honor student, top of her class, and she was going to fail out of everything here. The instruction for lessons was a joke, there were pretty much no videos to help, and she was constantly being emailed about how she was behind on this, had a zero on that, etc. I had to pull her out for her mental health. She was spending 9-10 hours a day trying to figure it out and keep up, reducing her to tears every day. I work in technology and typically have no problems navigating my way through most things, but this was nearly as stressful for me as it was for my teenager. Everyone we know who was enrolled here has left, either to return to public school or to homeschool, due to how impossible it was to navigate this system. I really hate to ding them with this review, but I want other parents to be forewarned. If a system such as this is going to take on extra students, they need to be sure their instructors are trained properly, and initiate some better oversight and consistency in how the classes work.

My daughter is enrolled due to the current state of the pandemic, and we thought this was a great idea. Like another has said— the whole system is a complete mess. Only two classes will show up under the to-do list for her assignments. The other classes never do. The indva page indicates she is doing well and is ahead on all of her work, but then we receive emails saying she’s behind and many zeros are put into the grade book. Friends of ours have tried contacting the school about similar issues but found no clarity. When I contacted the school, I was hoping to find out what has been going on and how we can fix it. But I was told to not look at the pacing page because it’s “wrong.” Along with the placement of assignments, documents, and pdfs, all of it was a mess as well. When my daughter emails for assistance, there is never a clear answer and she is told she submitted her assignment either to the wrong place or didn’t submit it at all. All I see is how stressed she is when I come home from work, and there’s nothing I can do to help with little assistance from teachers. We were really hoping this was a good idea, but sadly I cannot say it is. Hopefully something changes. We are very disappointed.
