Buyer beware! Allstate is very unprofessional and will rip you off when canceling boat insurance. They DO NOT tell you if you cancel boat insurance before your year you WILL NOT get a refund. I would leave no stars if it would let me.

Had insurance through this company and my son went on their app on my phone to get a quote for his insurance to see if it would be cheaper for his insurance. When he got the quote it was much higher than others he was looking at, so he closed the app without accepting the quote. The next time I go on the app to pay my bill, my statement says I owe over 1000.00 dollars! My insurance was 93.00 a month. I called and they told me he was added to my policy. I asked how that could happen without our consent or accepting the quote and was told she didn't know. I was then told they needed his current policy number to have it canceled off of mine. I got them the number and a few days later I got a call that said my policy had been terminated for non payment. I had been trying to pay my insurance on the app, but it wouldn't accept just the 93.00, it only gave the option to pay over 1000.00. I never received a bill, an insurance card for his truck, no paperwork whatsoever! Then a week ago I received a notification from the credit bureau that I had a new collection on my account for 480.00 from this company! I talked to someone from the home office and was told since I added him to my account they would need his policy number to try to back date the account, but that might not work! I explained I had already done that and had never heard from them or received any paperwork on anything I supposedly owed! He said it was allstates policy that when you add a driver, for my protection I have to provide the policy number for them to cancel the insurance. How does a quote turn into adding a driver when you don't accept it?!!! I have never gotten a quote from any other insurance company that they automatically add it without your consent and paperwork having to be signed and insurance cards being sent. My son was never given a card and he was never on mine! I will never ever do business with Allstate again!!! Would never recommend!!! I also have turned it in to the bbb and have disputed it with the credit bureau!
