Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mason City, an IHG Hotel

We had a great experience with this hotel. The staff was very friendly, rooms were nice and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was a money-saver.
The reason I'm writing this review, though, is to highlight the exemplary actions of the staff, particularly Crystal, the General Manager. A full 24 hours after we had checked out, I called the hotel, frantic that my daughter had realized that she had lost her favorite stuffed animal. This animal has been through it, sleeping next to my daughter since her birth. Crystal answered the phone, listened to my panic, put me on a brief hold, and then came back with the news that the lovey had been found. Halleluiah! A few days later, we received a package from the hotel that included our expected cross-county traveler, and also an adorable letter from Crystal.
This Mom is so appreciative of the staff at this hotel-a staff that knew this was someone's precious item. Thank you so very much.

Cleanest IHG hotel I've stayed in, and I spend 80-100 nights in IHG each year. Pride in ownership. Everything meticulous!

Room was dirty, Breakfast was so underwhelming. Actually kinda made me sick. Was not notified of pool closure upon check in. Went down to go swimming with my small children after attending sporting event and dinner after long day and pool was closed. Kids were absolutely devastated. Should of notified of us upon check in so we could of went elsewhere. Staff didn't want to call in maintenance on the weekend. Staff offered no solutions. Talked to manager (Cystal) and she was immediately a snob and rude from the get go. Very unprofessional for management. Will not be returning nor would I ever recommend this place off her alone.
