We met our agent through a Facebook basketball ticket exchange for high school in State Tourney. We were building right down the street from him. Long story short his quote came back better than most and he listens and responds promptly for any needs/questions we have had. Nice to be able to sit around a driveway fire and drink a beer with your insurance agent (after hours of course) and know them on a personal level.

Great customer service and very friendly. Kelly went over my current insurance, which ultimately got me switched over to Farm Bureau. Overall great experience!

This is a review of note for the Farm Bureau Insurance services for the state of Iowa. While their insurance policies are overall rather unremarkable, read further to explore methods in which the company utilizes some perhaps unsavory business practices in regards to billing. Farm Bureau requires customers to "be a member of Farm Bureau" before being so humbly allowed access to their self-presumed glorious insurance coverage options. For those who choose to embrace it, this earth-shattering opportunity may result as an unpleasant and forgotten surprise for customers later on when they receive a letter for notice of cancellation of coverage. In a panic, the customer rushes to call good ol' trusty Farm Bureau to ask what horrid mistake must have been made to cause such a tragic and perilous event. The customer is flabbergasted to find out that they didn't pay their "membership fee"! With a quivering lip and whimpering voice, the customer sputters, "Membership fee? What is this you say? I paid my insurance fees..." Apparently not so! A trip down memory lane digs up a vague recollection of excessive junk-mail-looking envelopes plastered with "Farm Bureau" touting some cherished "membership" that the customer is certainly not interested in, consequently tossing it to the trash bin without a second thought. Oh, what a tragic event indeed. Never fear, the customer can pay their customer fine online! Just don't forget to edit that sneaky "voluntary contribution" field that has been voluntarily filled out for you by - you guessed it - good ol' Farm Bureau strikes again! In your pocket every step of the way, ready with sneaky tricks to snag an extra few dollars from the Iowan's pocket! And last, but not least, ladies and gentleman...drumroll...behold the release of Farm Bureau's new, and I quote from the Des Moines Register, "controversial" health coverage plans! Not regulated by law, free reign to enact their own rules and tactics to beguile the customer! Personal health question screening required to apply, just to insure they apply the proper fees and fines to match your personal medical needs. It's...personalized care! Those interested in such options are strongly advised to research what laws and regulations such options must adhere to in order to maintain safety and protection of health care information and stability of coverage. In conclusion, it may be well advised for potential customers to carefully review every financial transaction and agreement made with Farm Bureau to insure that the expected services will be provided without additional financial surprises. Those considering signing up for the health care plans may benefit from additional research regarding legalities and thorough review of policy terms prior to providing any personal autographs.
