    DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Leah has done our taxes for a couple year without problem. Now I’m getting audited by the state and she won’t even return a phone call!

    For several years Morrison prepared my taxes without an issue. When an issue did arrive (something filed incorrectly in 2015 leading to a fine) this accountant chose to ignore it completely. The state revenue department sent me three letters over five months and every time I dropped them off at Morrison Consulting to review and advise on - but they never contacted me. Between June and October, 2018, I made six trips to the office and called seven times asking for someone to return my calls and advise me on how to proceed. No one ever did. So I ended up paying $550 in fines and taxes to the state without any assistance from this accountant who prepared the original forms. This accountant seems more content to drop a client than to provide them with service.

    Morrison Consulting is re-branding as Evergreen Tax now that they've ruined this name. Today, 3/12/2019, I picked up my 2017 tax documents to have them completed by a competent organization. We received notice that due to an emergency they had to file an extension. Not a problem, we could wait, emergencies happen. That was April 2018. October of 2018 we still did not have our taxes prepared. We were given a promise that all interest charges and fees would be paid for by Morrison Consulting. From November 2018 until March of 2019 we have been promised that our work would be completed. Calls were never returned. I finally took a day of vacation and went to the office to pick up my paperwork. Shame on me for letting this lapse. Shame on Morrison Consulting for putting me in this situation.

    On 11/26/2018, I filed my 2017 taxes snail mail since this outfit couldn’t seem to accomplish the task! Leah was recommended to me by a couple of coworkers two years ago. The first year was uneventful but this last tax year has been unreal! The April 2018 tax deadlines came and went. I was told an extension was filed. After asking about penalties and interest, if we owed any taxes, I was told they would cover them. “Just bring in any IRS letter you get.” Time passed...nothing. I called the Morrison Consulting office numerous times each time I could only talk with the office staff who indicated they had no access to any information. When asked to talk to Leah was told one of several excuses. “She is in a meeting”, “Not there”, “Out of town at a training”, “but she is working on it”. Finally in June I “Messenger” Leah and actually got a response on 6/19/2018. I was told she had had some personal issues and that she should have them for me on 6/25/2018. That deadline came and went with no contact from the Morrison office unless I made it. This went on until the tax extension deadline of 10/15/2018. The extension deadline came and was told they would e-file by the deadline. I called the next day a couple of times and finally was told they were printing the return. 10/16/2108. When I picked up my paper copy I was told no charge. The first time I had a positive feeling with this situation. We owe state taxes so I figured there would be some penalties. I went home contacted the state and found out what they would be. I called the Morrison office to let them know what the fees and penalties were so I could be reimbursed. Was told if I wanted those covered I would need to pay for the return prep. I said that is not what was promised each time I had brought up the subject. Got a similar response when I pushed... “Will let Leah know”... at that point I gave up. I figure I will never see the $. Never thought I would never get my tax return e-filed to either the Feds or state. 24 days go by. I see my state tax payment with fees clear the bank but no Fed refund. I called both state and fed they have no record of the return being e-filed. I called the Morrison office and got the… we don't know anything...we have no access to anything ...we have to contact Leah who was out of town until Tuesday, 4 days away. They would get info and call me on that Tuesday. Tuesday came and went...no call. I called Weds was told that Leah pointed out that my husband hadn't signed the e-filing form. I signed the form the day I picked up our tax return and was told they had e-filed by the deadline the night before, and again the next day when I called to confirm the e-filing. At this point I was going to have husband stop in and sign but I couldn't. Staff had no access to the form and they had to wait for Leah. That night the form was transmitted. On 11/26/2018 I again called the State and Feds and they reported no 2017 returns have been received. I again called the Morrison office and asked what is going on. Was again told Leah was not there but was schedule to be at another meeting at 3 PM. I state that I needed to hear from them by 3pm or I was coming in and getting a copy of my returns so I could mail them in since I can't get an e-filing confirmation from them. I was told that they did not have access to my return to get me a copy and I responded that I would bring in my copy to have copied. As usually I got no response by 3pm and by 3:45pm I was in their office getting a copy made. No information as to why I had to go this route was offered. Office staff through all of this has been professional. The owner / leader of this company has not. How hard is it to return a phone call, keep your customer informed etc? I have filed a complaint with the IRS Return Preparer Office and the state Better Business Department and I’m taking the time to post this review. My suggestion to all is find another to do your tax prep etc.
