We have been dealing with water issues in our old house for years. Also, foundation walls have shifted some. We finally had the means to do something about it and started gathering bids. The numbers and the assessments were SCARY. Then, a good friend hooked us up with Dirk at John Norris Foundation. Dirk came in and talked to me in terms of what needed to be done so we could continue to live in our house safely and comfortably. We actually asked for straightening of a wall (aesthetically displeasing from outside) that was in spec and he said didn't HAVE to be moved. Waterproofing inside and straightening one foundation wall, all was completed in a timely and professional manner with the waterproofer coming back after the first rain to get an area that just wasn't seen the first time through. And the head of the straightening crew actually offering some advice to a neighbor of mine on a small issue she had. These are good guys! Now, we're on day 3 of constant rain and instead of sitting in my basement with the shop vac at the ready, I was able to go into the office and not worry about it at all. That's the best part. I can't say enough good things about Dirk Oberzan. He inspected our house before we bought it a couple of years ago and gave us a ton of helpful information about the house, foundation related and otherwise, that helped us make a confident decision. He's incredibly knowledgeable, patient, honest, and kind. I called him last week to come take a look when we noticed what we thought were concerning symptoms of a foundation issue. He explained what was causing the symptoms we were seeing, and gave us ways to address them -- like turning on the humidifier on our heater and replacing the filter to keep wood floors from shifting so much in the winter. Such a refreshing experience to get intelligent, practical, trustworthy advice. The service he provides is invaluable.

Had an inspection done on an older home that I am considering purchasing. The inspector recommended John Norris to take a look at a few cracks in the foundation. I was anxious as I needed the house inspected quickly as I am in the process of closing but I texted the number he gave and Dirk called me within an hour or two. Although they were booked with appointments, they were able to squeeze in time to stop by and take a look at the property and I received an estimate the next morning. I felt that this company was fair, not out to make a quick buck and very responsive. Would definitely recommend.
