Don has been super responsive and helpful in narrowing down the myriad of assisted living options for my in-laws to a handful of ones that he recommends and are a good fit for them and their budget. He shared other connections with realtors, estate sale experts and local moving companies. He has been quick to jump in when we need a hand, provide advice when we asked for it and has taken a lot of chaos away from an otherwise stressful situation. We highly recommend him!

Senior Care Authority is a great resource for navigating care facilities the KC Metro. He helped us find the perfect place for my mom to receive the attention and care she needs and deserves. Don was extremely professional, caring, understanding, and even offered to help us move my mom's things! I highly recommend Senior Care Authority. Trying to find a long term care facility is very stressful in normal times, more so during a pandemic. This service is the answer. Like so many others who find themselves the care-givers of aged parents with rapidly diminishing abilities, I felt a growing panic trying to navigate the complicated eldercare system. I wanted the best possible care for mom, but was overwhelmed by all the choices—the terminology, the regulations, the costs. And, most importantly, what was each facility really like in competence and compassion when I wasn’t there? So after going it alone for almost a year, I reached out first to A Place for Mom, which is being widely advertised, and discovered it’s basically an internet referral company with no local presence. The phone calls from APFM were coming from Texas or Minneapolis, so I knew they had little or no first-hand knowledge of our metropolitan area. After describing my mom’s situation I got a list of referrals and talked to half a dozen places that were unworkable. Then I met someone from a good care center that unfortunately couldn’t meet my mom’s medical needs, but who sympathized with my predicament. She referred me to Don and Elaine Minter’s agency, Senior Care Authority. This was our breakthrough moment. Both Don and Elaine have worked locally in eldercare for years. After talking with Don for a few minutes I realized he understood every option, along with all the technicalities we’d been drowning in—as well as the emotional ordeal we’d been going through. He seems to know everyone, what each place is like inside, and he goes along on each care center tour he sets up. He helped me ask the right questions, and could refer me to outside agencies and financial aid options, such as the Veteran’s Administration pension for widows of war veterans. He even offered advice on furnishing my mom’s new apartment. So if you’re in the situation I was in, don’t let yourself be overwhelmed. The Minters’ know the complex world that was so new and intimidating to me, and they know the Kansas City metro area. Now that my mom is settling into her new home, I just wanted to do this shout-out, in hopes others can benefit from my good luck in finding the Minters at Senior Care Authority.

Senior Care Authority Kansas City is a top notch company to work with. From start to finish they guided my family to find the best living situation for our Mom. She was looking to live independently with the possibility of adding care as she needs it, and that is exactly what they found for us. This agency is absolutely awesome! The professionalism, attention to detail and follow-through exceeded all expectations. Don helped match our loved-one with an excellent facility, helped arrange moving and attend to many complex issues with calmness and care. Since I could not travel to assist, he became an adopted family member and we could not have been happier.
