This practice is the best, and my family has been patients for years!! Our prior dentist(s) could never compare to the excellent work administered by Dr. Patty Thompson and her staff; extremely professional and experts!!! When ever any family member, especially children, have issues, each member has been seen the day a call was placed, mentioning our concern. We have had no issues with insurance. The practice has always promptly reported/filed our paperwork to insurance company. It should be stressed that it is the patient's responsibility to have direct contact with their insurance company prior to any medical procedure to determine if his/her procedure and doctor are accepted. My family has never had an issue!!!!! I can only recommend this dentist to anyone in driving distance.

My wife and I were dental patients of Dr. Patty Thompson throughout 2019. Frankly, in my decades of working with businesses in all kinds of professions, this has got to be the absolute worst administratively run business of all time and one whose integrity comes into serious question. Following teeth cleaning, I was advised that I needed other work done to include crown replacements. My wife needed a night guard to compensate for teeth grinding. Waiting over 6 months now, this work was supposedly submitted to our insurance company for approval and we were told that none were approved. Very curious! Then after my wife’s teeth cleaning we got a notice from our insurance company that they did not cover the cleaning. That really got my attention so I called the insurance company. They told me that Dr. Thompson’s practice had dropped out of the network and were no longer considered approved providers! It would have been nice to be told. Worse yet, they told me that they had no records of any submittals from Dr. Thompson for the crowns nor the nightguard, both which WERE approved procedures under our insurance. I visited Dr. Thompson’s office to discuss this with the business manager and all I got was excuses and assurances that the appropriate forms were submitted for approval. Why then did she tell me that they were NOT approved when in fact they are covered procedures? According to the insurance company, Dr. Thompson’s office dropped out the of the network sometime in May or June and yet when I visited the office in October, the office manager told me that they were only notified that week that they were no longer part of the network. Again, very curious. I lost complete confidence in this dental practice and cannot recommend it to anyone for even the simplest of procedures. The office manager demonstrated utter incompetence and questionable integrity when dealing with my family. Lastly, right after my wife’s cleaning, two wires on her retainer came loose, perhaps as a result of aggressive cleaning….I can’t be sure. My wife was charged for twice the work than as actually done to repair her retainer. I refused to pay that portion of the bill for work that was not done. Can you believe it, over $300 to glue two detached wires…a procedure lasting minutes? My previous dentist in NC fixed a similar problem free of charge as a courtesy. I cannot honestly make any recommendations with respect to Dr. Thompson’s dental expertise as I could not get through the incompetent administration of the office to get any care besides cleaning this year. We have moved on to another dentist.
