Edited review: I decided to try out the hotel one more time a couple weeks after my first visit. I took the GMs request to give them another chance.
My second stay had no issues. It was a night and day difference between the first time I stayed and this one. The only negative thing I would have to say for this trip is that I didnt get a complimentary water and bag of chips like I did the first time. But I may have only gotten that because it was my first time completely staying with them and it may be a first time customer thing. Which I have no issue with.
I did take notice that the hotel is going through some updates and believe that the hotel is in the process of rectifying issues that have been brought up by previous clients.
I would potentially give them another shot in the future to see how the third time staying there is. But have no intention at the moment of staying again, mainly because I dont know when Ill be back down that way.
When I first checked in. I had high hopes for my stay. The check in was smooth and I received 2 free bottles of water and a small bag of chips. The associates checking me in were super nice. But this is the only good part of my stay.
After I dropped my stuff off. I headed out to do some things around town. I came back to my room after 9pm. I found out that the tv remote didnt work. So if I wanted to watch anything. I would have to constantly get up and use the buttons on the tv its self to do anything. Which was annoying. But wasnt the worst thing.
As I was watching tv. I heard the heater kick on and click a few times. Then a few minutes later, it clicked a few times again, then a few minutes later, again it clicked. This did not stop until I had to get up and turn off the heater. It probably did this for an hour before I finally turned it off and went to bed.
I told the front desk the next morning and all I got was a sorry and why didnt you tell us last night. Well if I told them last night after 10pm. I would have had to pack my stuff up and move rooms. I would have had maintenance people in my room trying to fix the issue and would disturb my peace, or they would have just told me to deal with it. None of the options seemed acceptable because I just wanted the day to be over.
They did not offer me anything except for a sorry on my stay. No discount on the amount I had to pay for my room, no future discount, not even a free soda or bag of chips.
A couple days later. I got an email from best western on my experience and I wrote similar to what I wrote above and the GM got back to me the next day and again just said sorry and hoped that Id have it in my heart to give them another shot. Again, not offering me anything substantial to come back and try them again.
Im sorry, but I will not give them anymore of my money to hope that my next stay would be better. They already ripped me off once and believed they didnt owe me anything to improve my experience.
I have stayed at the Hampton inn down the road before. I would suggest anyone try out that hotel instead of this one. They are roughly the same amount of money and actually care about customer service.
