My wife found 2 dirty wet washcloths in the bathroom when we checked in. The floors had sand or some kind of grit on them. We had to wipe this off our feet before getting into bed. The walls were paper thin to the point we could listen to our neighbors cell conversations. The best thing was the location close to town.

A most welcome surprise! Older motel that has been renovated and well maintained while being turned into a resort. Room was well furnished, but not over done very comfortable and clean. The property with the lake in the background is like a postcard. Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved our stay at Highland Lakes resort! Traveled with 3 generations of family and we all had a great time. Unfortunately the weather didn't cooperate, so my dad couldn't hang out at the lake, but he enjoyed just sitting on the porch. The rest of us swam every day, even in the rain and made the most of the week.

My family used to have a house up on Highland lake that we'd visit every summer when I was a kid. It's been almost a decade since I've been up here, and due to the deep sentimental value bridgton and this lake hold to me, choosing a spot to stay was a bit daunting. Needless to say, Highland resort was the perfect choice. Despite having come in the off-season, the grounds are plowed and well-kept. Though we obviously didn't get to use any of the other amenities, having come in early February, we had the pleasure of staying in one of the North resort rooms, which served as a cozy retreat after spending the day exploring in the cold. The staff was extremely welcoming and kind, checking up on us any time we crossed paths. They offered housekeeping and to fill any requests each time we encountered them. This all being said, I have set my heart on this hidden gem. There was even an added bonus that you could see our old property from the room we stayed in! Thank you SO MUCH to the Highland Lake Resort staff for allowing my boyfriend and I to reconnect with this beautiful place. We'll see you again for Summer 2025! Rooms: The room we stayed in was simple, clean, well furnished and homey. It even came with a fridge and microwave! We were able to charge our devices with the built in USB outlets as well. Each room even comes with a salt lamp, which added to that cozy feel! Nearby activities: Despite being unable to use the summertime amenities they have to offer, there is plenty to do with both the nectar cafe on the grounds of the resort and the town of bridgton so close! During our stay, we visited some of the shops in town, had the pleasure of eating at Beth's Kitchen (seriously the best breakfast around) and walked out onto the frozen lake to shoot some photos! I hear there is also skiing nearby with Shawnee peak so close, so I trust there's even more to do than we are aware of! Safety: A quiet little space that seems like it would be perfect for families and children! Food & drinks: We stopped into the Nectar smoothie cafe on our way to check out and it's such a cute little place! Noteworthy details: There are common areas where you can walk down to the lake, even with the snow!
