Overall not what we expected and overpriced. The boat was older, and the owner was curtious. But not only was the fishing non existent, I was told how good it was. The rental from 12:30-4:15 was same price as full five hours even though rain had started and we brought the boat back. $180 + gas… Felt there could have been a credit for weather. And on return we were told the story about fish escaping from the lake when the dam was repaired last year.

I’ve never seen so many hard working employees. They are great with the customers and very patient. It’s always a fun time here. The boats are in great condition compared to other marinas we have been. They are very fair about the rocks on the lake and even provide a map of the lake showing locations of rocks. The prices are cheaper than many other rental places around for how good condo the boats are. We even saw a baby loon pop up several times. Will for sure be coming back next summer!

The boat was functional, but overall disappointing, and considering all overpriced. This 2013 model was worn beyond its years. See images. I’m sure this vessel sees a lot of use but it’s condition speaks loudly to the lack of care or maintenance this marina gives their equipment. Boating should be fun and a special experience. It is neither in this boat. The steering has no assistance, the carpeting was continuously wet, the carpet looked to have mold growing on it and definitely had a distinct odor to it, the boat was over-powered per the posted Coast Guard rating, the horn didn’t work, the captain chairs were uncomfortable and didn’t stay in their “locked†position, and the upholstery in general was significantly worn and had holes in it. As the only boat rental marina on the lake their attitude towards their equipment and pricing speaks disappointingly loud. Thompson lake is a true beauty in a beautiful state. After this rental I feel this marina takes advantage of rather than supports the visiting water loving family. I will not return to this business. If you dare the risky waters thoroughly review your assumptions and ask MANY questions before committing.
