Less than a year and the carpet mike put in is splitting in several places..no masks and wouldnt wear one..ugg..im not a happy camper! I would not recommend ..

It’s unfortunate to write this about a local small business but I feel given how important flooring is and the cost, potential customers need to hear about our experience. My husband and I went to mikes flooring and hired them to install carpet. I was told mike the owner was getting ready to retire so I was excited we could get his expertise. However, once the job started it appeared his son was the main person installing- totally fine with us. Once the job was completed my husband went upstairs to take a look (with shoes on) and everything appeared good. Not more than 10min after they left our house we went upstairs with no shoes and felt that the carpet was soaked right around our radiator. We then noticed it was so soaked it was leaking through the floor and a water stain was was now appearing on the kitchen ceiling, not good. We immediately shut our heat off, called the shop and the wife who was not helpful, said “I don’t know anything about radiators maybe shut off a valve”. Never once mentioned next steps about having mike call us back. The radiator was moved to some degree upon installation and of course we knew this was a mistake and that’s how we approached it. The issue we have overall is a lack of ownership with this mistake, mike the next day was in touch and on multiple occasions mentioned “it was bound to happen” “a dog could have bumped it and that would have leaked” and that he talked to his son and he said he “barely touched it”. I actually had to explain to the owner that this was a cause and effect scenario regardless of how much something was moved it was moved and it caused a leak, it caused damage and we went without heat for the night and needed and emergency tech to come out the next day to repair. Ultimately after arguing with us over cost of repairs they agreed to deduct the total repair cost from our final bill. To sum this all up, they lost our business for good and it’s a shame that this is due to lack of ownership and understating of a mistake they caused. I strongly recommend looking around before using this company.
