YOU MUST LIE TO THEM.
If you want to inquire about additional animals, or guests, DON'T. Not only will they decline your request for a completely resonable inquiry, they will just stop talking to you. Meanwhile they've declined your request to rent the property at all and given away the dates to other renters. Which has me believe that even if they had said no, and you agreed to the original numbers, that they assume you would just break the rules anyway. SO JUST LIE TO THEM UP FRONT. Tell them you are there for knitting group and then invite the local frat boys out for a kegger.
They're unreasonable, and unbelievably disrespectful.
If you're not willing to LIE then, DO NOT do business with these people.

I had 2 agents come and look at my home, 1 agent came in to tell me how much I could rent my home out to. She was very nice and professional, whereas the 2nd agent came in to tell me how much to put my house up for. He was very negative telling me all the reasons why my house wouldn't sell for what I paid for it and it would sit on the market a long time. I decided to get a different opinion and the new agent told me to list it at for 20,000 more than what he suggested and it had multiple offers and sold for more than what we listed it for in less than a week. Not sure if this agent was trying to pull one over on me and sell it low and quick to turn a profit or if he was just bad at his job. Either way go to another company for a sellers agent.
